A lot has been said in the comments the last few days and the harm they face and the necessity for competent, qualified leaders to guide firefighters in their tasks. I think the last thing any of us want to see is a police officer or firefighter injured as they perform their duties to protect us, especially by less than competent supervision. When you have a free moment try to keep them in your thoughts and that they will be kept safe from harm, whatever the cause,
THE FIREFIGHTER'S PRAYER
When I'm called to duty God
wherever flames may rage
give me
strength to save a life
whatever be its age
Help me to embrace a little child
before it is too late
or save
an older person from
the horror of that fate
Enable me to be alert
to hear the weakest shout
and quickly and
efficiently
to put the fire out
I want to fill my calling and
to give the best in me
to guard my
neighbor and
protect his property
And if according to your will
I have to lose my life
bless with
your protecting hand
my children and my wife.
Thank You,Kevin!
ReplyDeleteDo you have to be a Vollie to be competent are we saying if your a person raised in this great City or not a product of nepotism You are not Competent. I will pray for you all
ReplyDeleteMany THANKS to all our mens and womens. I have always loved "THE FIRFIGHTERS PRAYER", and it should be put up in every firehouse around the country, it has a true meaning. When our fellow FIREMENS
ReplyDelete& FIREWOMENS took their position, they all knew the risk that comes with this type of work.
Putting out fires is a TEAM effort.
New deputy Chief Waller will bring pride back to this her department. Unlike Nolan, who tried to make it like the marines...........
ReplyDeleteHave you ever met a Marine that didn't have pride?
ReplyDeleteNew Deputy Chief Waller has no idea what pride is, he is a sad story to the Hartford Fire Dept. and to the men and women that work their, they are the ones that have PRIDE. Waller is only there to make some kind of name for himself, which is another funny story in itself.
