You forgot to mention the time he was fired for abandoning his brothers at a FIRE! Also that he got his job back because the stupid city didn't follow the right steps in terminating him. The court decision states that he did what he was accused of, but the City did not properly terminate him.
Why would you lie to everyone that it's the Chiefs responsibility to pay the Cities bills. Where do you think the 1.5 mil. came from. Was it just sitting in HFD's slush fund and the Chief decided not to spend it. If it wasn't for the OSHA report the City still wouldn't have come up with that money.
I Know you are too busy kissing Huertas's butt to recognize the facts, but it is his responsibility to make sure his agency is run correctly, and that includes making sure the bills are paid so that the department can properly operate. Where are Huertas's emails to the Mayor, Council or Finance Director complaining that the bills aren't being paid? There aren't any because as Chief he is clue less as to his department's daily operations
I was standing next to Dan Nolan and AC Smith at that fire when Dan said those infamous words and no one was abandoned. He was looking out for his exhausted crew after opening the roof, then being cut off from their bucket by extending fire and barely making it back to safety. Dan should have handled it better, but he never abandoned anyone.
Anonymous 3:43 is what I was talking about! Are they really talking about something that happened 18 yrs ago? Why can't people just deal with the fact that Hartford is a joke NOW!
Why is it O.K. to dig into the Mayors' past for things he did before he was Mayor, but not O.K. to bring up things that another person did while employed!
Kevin is right the Chief is responsible for the acts of the idots in the HFD. Kevin is right the Chief does not know everything, but with your assistance he is getting better. Kevin thanks for your assistance. Lets hope for the best.
Good things are going on at HFD. The City magically found 1.5 mil. for equipment. Even though it's only EMS, Training is actually doing something. And they're ridding the Dept. of it's cancers.
Its the fault of the fire task force the hired the last several years of men/women who are here for the $$$ and days off. These individuals will not go the extra mile for a job they don't love. Blame the past 2 chiefs.
It would be nice if we could get some of the Officers to go the first mile and actually be with the people in a fire. I guess some are to worried about their next promotion to do what they should be doing now!
Kevin

I guess in today's world Emails are the only way to communicate despite weekly meetings in person.
