JUDGE KILLIAN OFFERS POLICE STAFFING SUGGESTIONS

Right about now we need solutions and suggestions, not attention grabbing stunts. One of those doing that is Mayoral candidate Bob Killian. Killian is stepping up and trying to identify potential solutions that will have a positive impact on Hartford's future. His thoughts are driven by common sense, and after reading his ideas, it makes it clearer and clearer to me every day why Bob Killian is the right choice for Hartford , when we need solid leadership the most.

  1. And I bet Judge Killian didn't have to hold any secret meetings to come up with that plan. Seems like basic common sense, devise a plan and stick to it, What part doesn't Pedro get?. A little bit of common sense would go a lot further than Segarra's stunts. Maybe if the Council members didn't detest cops so much, they would actually work to provide what the community needs. But then again , what would they be jumping on right now to re-build their election year images if they didn't have chaos and dysfunction, that they created

  2. Pedro is the Mayor of Wayward Pines, not Hartford. We need to vote this loser pervert out of office.

  3. Stop insulting our Pedrito, he could become the best hot dog sales person ever in the new ballpark. Let him be in charge of the hot dod stand, mu(ba)stard and ketchup included.

  4. Please take the time to read this. Great insight, plus ideas and solutions that can really work. And he calls for unbiased collaboration between city government, the HPD, the mayoral candidates, and Hartford's citizens without playing political games. Bob has put his heart and mind into the thoughts and words we read here. That's just one of several reasons why I support his candidacy.

  5. I'm for activist cops, a la Rudy Giuliani's NYC. Let's give our cops unequivocal political support, and equip them as they require. The bigger problem is that no matter how good the cops, the system pumps bad guys out on our street after they've "served their time."
However, I am opposed to so much federal involvement in our law enforcement. Since when do we need the ATF to deal with illegal ammo transactions? What part of the U.S. Constitution gives cover to the over-grown U.S. government for such micro-management?
Why weren't there any Hartford pols "rallying" with Al Sharpton?

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Hartford man was sentenced Thursday to federal prison for illegally possessing ammunition.

According to a press release, 30 year old Seth Watson was sentenced to over four years in jail and three years of supervised release after pleading guilty to one count of possession of ammunition by a previously convicted felon back in April 2014.

ATF officials received information from Hartford Police in 2012 that five people purchased ammo form a sporting goods store in East Hartford sometime July, the release states. Those five people, including Watson, are convicted felons.

  6. Unified community is important, Mr. Killian, but this city needs jobs, jobs, jobs, jobs. Lot of problems will be resolved when we get jobs, jobs, jobs. Not temporary, part time, seasonal low paying jobs like the Yards Goats/Yard Rats will offer. We are talking REAL jobs.

  7. I fully agree with anonymous 9:22am. Hartford needs jobs, lots of job, in the north end, south end, east end and the west end. All over the city. Did Segarra bring any job to Hartford since he became mayor 5 years ago, even one single job? If you answer "yes", please name the employer, number of employees and their weekly/monthly/annual salary.

    1. Jobs, Segarra, maybe in his fantasy world. He didn't bring no jobs, but he brought a stadium with a sky box for himself, that we'l pay for the next 25 years. That's the most Segarra could bring.

  8. Gary Becker, winner of Nobel Prize in Economic, proposed that criminals act rationally, turning to illegal behavior when there's little opportunity for honest work.
Very unfortunately, Hartford offers very little opportunity for honest work.

Hartford offers NO opportunity at all for honest work, unless you're related somehow to Pedro Segarra or one of his cronies, unless he needs your vote in city council or at the Democratic Town Committee.
