Apologies for out-of-place comment. Just an update on your previous post. ----------------------------------------------------------- SPRINGFIELD — Hundreds of people paid their respects yesterday to slain police officer Ashley Guindon, formerly of Mass-achusetts and New Hampshire, who was shot dead last month in Virginia on her first day on the job.
Crowds lined Chestnut Street as a police motorcade escorted the hearse to Sacred Heart Church, where the Rev. Mark S. Stelzer prayed for the 28-year-old Springfield native’s family, as well as the two officers who were critically injured when they responded to a domestic violence call with Guindon at a Woodbridge, Va., home on Feb. 27 and were met by gunfire at the front door.
