  2. YES I agree, but it wasn't for our illustrious Mayor Bonein , it's 50% Chief Freeman, and 50% the Great members of the Hartford Fire Department ! Think how it would of been without all the forced retirements.

  3. Did you new guys read the fine print. Vinni sold you all down the river. Now you have to do 25 years. Good job relying on a rat like vinni. That contract is not worth the toliet paper its printed on. You all are nuts for approving zeros for each year. The mayor just hired a bunxh of 100k + new employees.
Wow. The mayor will not get a free pass from the police and city yard crew.
Plus the mayor is closing two firehouses to save even more money. Just a rumor you say, i have seen the paperwork. Its pretty much a done deal when bronin files chapter 11 in january.
My advice to all members with less then 10, get out now!
You followed that plump rat vinni to the hole in the ground.

Ask yourself this, where is vinni gonna be in 2 years? Exactly, laughing with his kings ransom while you guys believed him .......

  4. So Ladder Loyalty, you sound like one of those "know-it-all" member of the department. The ones who know all the facts and figures but when asked to tell more they are real hesitant to come up with any hard facts just that it came from a good source. Rumors have always gone unchecked within the department. BTW, the past contract required its members to do 25 years of service also for a full pension so whats the big deal. And from what I've herd and been told, if the city does declare bankruptcy, then one and all present and retired employees (firefighters) weekly paychecks and pension checks can be affected. Meaning they can pay you what they want too, so as far as I can see, even though Vinnie and his union minions are and will always be rats, they will be affected also. P.S. don't take being a know-it-all to heart. I always enjoyed talking to you guys, not like some of the POS firefighters that are and have been on the job.
Stay safe brothers & sisters. Merry Christmas / Happy New Year to all of ya.................well maybe not all ya.

  6. The original contract that was negotiated for a 20 year pension provided for 50% of your last annual salary. Firefighters who were hired after a certain date still can receive 50 % after 20 years. 85% pensions after as little as 22 years at the salaries being paid today are not sustainable.
