Well, here we go again.
Now Sexual Harassment allegations are being made against Hartford City Council President Thomas Clarke. These allegations on the heels of allegations against City Council Aide Kelly Kirkley-Bey. And those allegations followed the removal of the Lieutenant in charge of Hartford's Police Academy, Lieutenant Christine Mertes after allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct.
When is enough enough, or do we look forward to spending money on outside attorneys and paying out large settlements.
Sadly, these allegations are well documented through Police reports and other documents such as text messages. I think there probably has been less solid documentation of wrongdoing against some individuals that have been forced to resign from positions, Yet in Hartford, it is business as usual.
I don't think many people will accuse Mayor Bronin of showing any solid leadership, but maybe it is time he seizes the moment and starts showing what leaders are supposed to do.
Mayor Bronin set the tone of "Zero Tolerance" that we keep hearing you and others talk about.
If the text messages actually exist of the nature described in the Complaint against TJ Clarke, he needs to step aside. Kelly Kirkley -Bey should have been removed the day her incident occurred, not months later and only after it became public and a thorough investigation of Lt. Mertes needs to take place along with a demotion or termination for her outrageous behavior. Also, any current City employees need to know that their will be no retaliation for their honesty and helping to rid City Government of perverted behavior. And in setting the tone, the word should be spread that this behavior will not be tolerated
And making excuses TJ that it is just dirty politics is less than genuine. Dirty politics didn't type those text messages or have those thoughts, YOU DID. . And the same goes for Kelly and Christine Mertes, be adults and own your behavior. And Mayor Bronin you need to do the same also and stop worrying about votes for your next rung on the ladder, do the right thing.
Ignoring it only allows bad behavior to flourish.
Bronin is gonna jump on this like a bucking buckaroo. He will take this tiger by the tail as long as it suits his run for governor. Watch what happens and learn something about political persuit of power.
ReplyDeleteI get it. Uncle jimmy wants to leave and not deal with the mertes issue. Maybe some of these community meetings with the next chief should ask the tough questions.
ReplyDeleteWill Chief Rosado complete a transparent investigation of the sexual comments made by Lt Mertes? Pretty simple. Order Rendock to do it. When he gives the usually run around , demote him back to Lt. A strong zero tolerance message needs to be sent. Where is the “bar” for hpd in the year 2018?
Why even bother posting all those zero tolerance city of hartford pieces of toliet paper in every city building ?
Bronin unfortunately will be crushed in a governors race against klaridas.
So, will TJ Clark resign? Inquiring minds want to know.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone actually believe Mayor Bronin has the city in mind, rather than his run for governor, in determining how he should handle this matter?
ReplyDeleteThe city needs a full-time mayor. Running the capital city while running for governor is unfair to the people of Hartford. It's very different than running a small town and simultaneously running for governor. Bronin should step aside if he wants to be on the campaign trail.
Klaridas!? The former WWE ring girl? Linda McMahon a we bit jealous? Woooo
ReplyDeleteR Jo takes command of the council 2018.
ReplyDeleteThen she will be mayor in november when the honarable Luke Bronin becomes governor.
The ink is dry.
Deal with it Brookman.
Please No!!!
DeleteShe is corrupt too.
DeleteAbsolutely not Rjo! This woman has no etiquette and she is very unpolished. Im learning a lot about Luke. He is a very duplicitous two faced individual. Luke should resign as mayor the moment he announced his candidacy for govenor. No one.can trust that he makes any decisions with the best interest of the city of Hartford in mind first.

ReplyDeleteIf we think things are bad now, imagine how bad they would be under your scenario. Put the Grand Jury on standby now
Does anyone know why golden boy Bronin didn't call for resignations from Mertes ans Kirkley Bey but did for TJ ?
ReplyDelete9:09 and 9:14
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree. Either that, or just insure the chief office has a selection of white powers and weed for a little pick-me-up in the afternoon. And knowing how things go in Hartford, I am sure she is already discussing it with some kind of inner drug circle. Yes, we know and it's not a rumor. My question is why Bronin would have included her for his council in the first place? Answer: the North End black intelligencia requested her inclusion because her loud mouth brings votes to the table. That's how politics works. Whoever can bring vote, is included no matter how ignorant and disreputable they are.
And this one takes the cake.
And add-on to my previous commentary on rJo; Leadership is only as good as the intelligence of the constituency who elect them. And some of us understand from observation that this mean average of intelligence in Hartford is terribly low. Expect the same ole same ole. I'm a life-long democrat but maybe it's time to elect some good, fiscally conservative republicans. But that will never happen in Hartford. Instead, we choose to elect something warm and fuzzy sounding like "Working Families Party" whose only goal is to spend more on services for the down-trodden and indigent and virtual unemployable.
ReplyDeleteStand strong TJ we got ya back the elites wanted your downfall but you'll get through this you the wrong complexion
ReplyDeleteCould you translate that into English please?
DeleterJo doesn't have the votes to be city council president. She will be lucky to survive this as an elected official.
ReplyDeleteIntroducing TJ's replacement: http://uks.com/profile/arunan-arulampalam
And also introducing your new interim city clerk, Kelly Bilodeau.
If a male Lt said to a female recruit what Mertes said, the process to terminate would have started the same day.
ReplyDeletesex with lesser employees is an under ground fringe benefit in Hartford....deal with it...
ReplyDeleteOlga Colon who is named in the CHRO complaint was the "fringe benefit" of former Councilman Alex Aponte for a number of years.
ReplyDeleteR Jo for mayor 2018.
ReplyDeleteLearn to love it.
Its a fact of life.
The ink is dry.
R Jo is a class act.
rJo, it ain't never going to happen so save your key strokes, you are lucky Bronin picked you up for his slate last go around, I don't think it will happen again

ReplyDeleteComplexion has no bearing. It is a matter of right and wrong if it is true
I'm for RJo....she doesn't bend over for Luke like the others do
