ONE OF THE "BARONE 4" ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT ON A PREGNANT PERSON AND OTHER CHARGES

Edwin Franqui, one of the people involved in the Barone "trigger happy" video has been arrested for several charges . The charges stem from a domestic incident where Franqui kicked and stomped his pregnant girlfriend.

Franqui was quoted as yelling that "if  you won't be with me, then you won't be with anybody" during the assault.Franqui also attempted to strangle his victim during the assault and actually choked her out to the point she lost consciousness during the assault . The girlfriend, according to the arrest report was hospitalized  but there did not  appear to be any apparent injuries to the unborn child.

Not surprisingly, no one recorded Franqui's assault on their I-phone.

Due to the fact  that this was a domestic violence issue, the victim is identified only as Jane Doe in the reports.

Here is the Police report:

These are not stellar members of the community that were just chilling on abandoned property in the darkness of night. Criminal activity was afoot and Barone controller the situation with his comment and then explained to them later during the interaction. Yet liberal soft on crime Luke Bronin is real quick to want to terminate Barone. Luke Bronin was also real quick to call for the fullest prosecution under the extent of law for Justin Torniero. Ok, I do get it, but the fact that this is the first time Luke Bronin has ever called for the fullest prosecution and it’s a cop is unbelievable. Not once has Luke Bronin called for the fullest prosecution of a murderer or shooter.....I guess that doesn’t fit his political agenda. Luke Bronin openly calls for second chances for the harshest criminals and opens prison re-entry welcome centers in the city. Luke also sees persons addicted to opioids and drugs as victims that just need help. Yet he wants a cop that nearly died of cancer that has a substance abuse problem hung. This clearly shows Luke Bronin’s liberal agenda, his soft on crime policies, and his anti law enforcement and disdain for police. This is why cities like Hartford a crime ridden and failing miserably. Luke really needs to go back to Greenwich.

    2. Absolutely not, your missing the point. He definitely deserves what he got along with what he has coming. The point is for Bronin to call for him to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law is BS when he has not once done that for any shooter or murderer.

  3. Plenty of public outrage when I cop says something wrong. I'll be waiting on the public outrage for when a Hartford citizen actually does something wrong. I won't hold my breath.

Sgt. Barone really did nothing wrong in the case on Heath Street except to use
statements that ticked off politicians. He gave them their chance to bash the HPD
and like working off their script did what they do best beside nothing and that is to
criticize those who protect the city.

Sgt. Barone should have given the group a direct warning to leave or failing that
arrest the group for either Trespass or Obstruction of free passage. His comments
while not pretty kept the group off balance. I doubt that if attacked by this fine group of
“Stakeholders” that even a peep would be heard from any member of the “clergy”
    local pols or “community activists”.

Edwin Franqui, one of the group so aggrieved by the commentary of Sgt. Barone
proved yet again that he really isn’t the type of character to lionize when knocking cops.
September 12 was the date when this character was arrested yet again for several violent crimes
in the city. A character who is a criminal pest deserving of little acclaim.

HPD does exceptional work every day and if anyone in the
City Administration cares I point to the arrest of Harold Cook
and his band of violent criminals. Just convicted for the murder
of Charles Teasley and more will come. Other murders and violent crimes.
But not one word from anyone about that.

I guess it’s easier to condemn police officers when they say
something dumb rather than commend them for excellent service and results.

    1. Whats that that teach in the academy held to a higher standard than the average guy? Newsflash Chris criminals in hartford dont take an oath to uphold the law an to serve an protect police officers do an quite frankly the trigger happy comment didnt even bother me i thouhht that was hilarious actually but telling them that they are nothing but overtime an paperwork basically saying they are worth more dead than alive was uterlly disgusting an deplorable a simple Get The F outta here an dont ever come back would have been sufficient but all that extra commnetary for what???

  5. To the anonymous one of 146.

The higher standard is within the individual police officer or should be. If anyone has to learn it in the academy they
    should choose another career .

Street talk to criminals is a tactic used again and again for all sorts of reasons. Some include but are not limited to controlling a crowd, advising offending citizens exactly what might happen if they disobey police commands and for publicizing exactly what police will do if
bad behavior doesn’t stop. You are right 146 when you say that crooks don’t take an oath to anything and that’s
why police must be direct with them. They understand that talk.

Sgt. Barone should have chosen other words but shouldn’t be crushed for his comment which I
    never said was ok.

  6. This whole Barone business has me completely conflicted. I can’t stand when cops abuse their power and I think cops get treated with kid gloves here all the time. However, I felt Barone simply said something stupid that doesn’t even rate being demoted much less fired. I had a much bigger problem with the African American officer insisting the subject didn’t have a right to remain silent. That cop actually demonstrated a lack of understanding of civil rights while Barone simply hurt someone’s feelings. Barone’s Statement was made in such a nonchalent way it’s hard to seriously take it as a threat.

  7. I think most rational people looking at all of the facts would agree with you

  8. I wonder how many cops today stated “show me your hands” “ drop the knife” “ put down the gun’ “ or I’ll shoot” ,,,,,,it’s nothing but verbal judo and if that’s what it takes to get demoted then HR departments around the country better give promotional tests every week.

    1. Get this right......Police departments around the country are NOT demoting any officer/sergeants for verbal judo......ONLY Hartford and liberal anti police Luke Bronin is!!!
