THREAT RECEIVED AT CLASSICAL MAGNET SCHOOL

HARTFORD, Conn.— March 5, 2019 Hartford Police investigated a threat at Classical Magnet School, 85 Woodland Street.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Classical Magnet School located at 85 Woodland Street received a phone call threat of gun  violence.  The administrators quickly placed the school on a Code Yellow “Soft Lockdown” and called police.  The Hartford  Police patrol division, Intelligence Division, and Special Investigative Division have responded and are conducting the  investigation.  

At this time there is no anticipated early dismissal, and authorities are on scene.  There are no road closures as a result of the  investigation. 

More information will be disseminated as it becomes available.

  1. According to hphs administration about 90 students walking hallways creating a concern. That is a fact. Another fact is there appears to be no plan that has worked yet to remedy the potentially unsafe conditions. Askk what the plan is and the reply to rational people is insufficient.

  2. As an insider, I can't really disagree with the previous comment. Hartford Public Schools are adrift and on fire. Tim Sullivan was not necessarily a savior, but he is undeniably competent and committed. Sadly that opportunity to get things moving in the right direction has passed.

  4. Even Hartford Magnets are in the toilet now. I hear Suburban parents are pulling out of Magnets and that's why all these school are under enrolled and facing budget cuts. The "misbehaved students" are taking over and running a terror situation in schools and Admins cant do anything about it because of the dcf reports, they can't even place a hand on students who are trying to harm others or harm themselves without possibly costing them their careers or creditably. so they just let the kids run wild!

  6. leslie created a culture of reporting teachers for just trying to do their jobs it's the fergurson effect along with that its all rainbows and false data downtown
