Before there was "WE THE PEOPLE" there was "ONE HARTFORD". The show was a weekly program with myself, Hyacinth Yennie, Stan McCauley, Gerry Pleasant and Bishop John Selders.
We have decided to resurrect the program on a monthly basis to discuss issues facing Hartford. Here is the first program where we discuss Charter Revision and other current issues.
Kevin, hopefully your first guest will be new fire chief Waller. He will need a decent public forum to re educate the faulty work efforts and incompetant fire crews. Its time for a change. Waller for Chief !!!!!!
ReplyDeletePicking on the registrars again for getting people out to vote. It's the politicians who get people out to vote. Registrars enroll eligible citizens, voters while we're registering let it be known all the registrars are involved in registering new voters among the other tasks the office is involved with. It's not just one registrar, or political party, it all of them. One last note on Yennie's comment "if people say it it must be true", that is how we have ended up in the problems were in as a city. Every time the lawyers (mayor and those on council) start moving their lips people start to believed what is saide. Kevin, you alone have been questioning the information you have been given coming from city hall and those working their. Time to dig deeper and get the true facts, stop listening start investigating again and clear some of the air for all.
ReplyDeleteIf the politicians are the ones who get people out to vote, they aren't doing a great job. And what the hell do we need the registrars for? Make it an appointed position or get rid of the office altogether....
ReplyDeleteKevin, I'm glad that the One Hartford crew has risen from the dead. There's no way you can cover a month's worth of Hartford's issues in 30 minutes. Tell Stan to consider pushing it to at least 1 hour.

ReplyDeleteRead the comments on http://wethepeoplehartford.blogspot.com/2013/06/city-to-registrars-not-penny-more.html to learn what hte office of the Registrars does. Because of politicians and rigging, double voting and other improprieties the office of the Registrar was created and is in state law. As was brought out in the broadcast, whomever gets appointed will do the bidding of the individual(s) who appointed. Let's not go back in time, getting rid of the office would only put the election process back 130+ years. Moving forward and working to improve it is what is needed. No registrars, no elections. No elections, well it will get worse than it is now!!!!
ReplyDeleteBetter yet why not put both Chiefs on, the incompetent Chief Operating Officer and the incompetent Fire Chief Waller. I am sure that the City residents may want to see where their hard earn dollars are going to.
Mister thinks he knows it all, it's his way or the highway, all he does is brag, about when he becomes "Chief" and who he's going to get rid of, maybe Kevin can ask him "whose first on the hit list"?? He is not the most like Chief in the entire Fire Dept, he has had some sort of conflict with many of the crew members, he has written up everyone who has challenged him. I guess when he becomes Chief he can then look in his black folder and start taking action. Just about every Firefighter that has work under Deputy Dog Chief Waller will attest to it. He made have a lot of his credentials but he will not win the Fire Dept Popularity Award. But I guess he will fit right in with the rest of the corrupted group of A-holes that are running the City. His fiancee, SKBOrges the corrupted COO/CC, has under mind the Mayor, she's been calling the shots, making a lot of bad decisions, without her, Waller wouldn't be Chief.
It's time to show the faces that are ruining our City.
I could care less about the popularity, it is more about his competence , or the lack thereof
ReplyDeleteAs a life-time resident of Hartford, I am extremely concerned about the lack of police in residential areas. Not the officers fault. They are "assigned" as community officers yet deployed to fill in downtown for events, etc. That should be for off-duty not on duty that should be protecting TAX PAYING citizens. If we want more people in Hartford it needs to be safe and this chief could care less. The southwest section is totally ignore like we do not exist. Our calls not answered if we call the station. Not the officers fault-they are not happy either. Downtown is a big priority with the Chief and Mayor-not us who pay our taxes. Our southwest will become the northend soon and our neighborhoods are deteriorating, speeding, noise, lack of quality life is big time. Where need our community officers in the community with visibility there so as to deter what is going on. Drug dealing is big time here.Don;t have to be a rocket scientist to spot it. Chief and Mayor have no interest in the citizens. Need a change to walking beats, etc. It is rare to see an officer unless we personally call them and ask for assistance. Call the station and forget it. 311 is the biggest joke. The expense is insane and when I raised this at a NRZ meeting Jaffy and the rest really did not want to hear it. One big black hole with no one taking responsibility for what needs to get done. Our taxes money is just being thrown away on nonsense that is causing this city's demise. We need help here.
