MORE MAYORAL P-CARD MISUSE

Mayor Segarra just doesn't get it. The City Purchasing Card, (p-card) is not his own personal Visa Card. The Hartford Internal Audit Commission has finished their report on another abuse by Segarra at the expense of Hartford's taxpayers.

Unlike the Caviar and New Years Eve soiree of a couple years ago, this one might make sense to a few more Hartford residents, but in the end , it is still wrong.

According to the report and other sources, Segarra  allowed a $3000.00 charge for funeral expenses to be billed to a City workers Credit Card. The charge resulted after the daughter of a City employee was the victim of a tragic triple homicide.

The Mayor was apparently instrumental in moving the payment through and reimbursing the Carmon Funeral Home of Windsor  for at least $3,000.00 at the City's expense.

However well intentioned, it was still an inappropriate use of City funds , and the method in which the purchase was made is very questionable as to the Mayor's intent.

The report below and the following video , where the matter was explained at the April Audit Commission meeting, lay out more of the "behind the scenes" activity by Segarra.

  1. Hey kevin. Your mil rate and taxes going up. The mayor is raising taxes and cutting jobs but hey why not give a million dollars for new bathrooms at the merry go round in bushnell park. Why does the state not chip in, is not bushnell park part of state property? But im sure the mayor will do what he wants

  4. Hartford needs to start now, do not wait till last minute... organize, tell your family, friends and neighbors, get them onboard, if his lies don't catch up with him and get him out, which I hope do, then work on the campaign to GET HIM OUT!!!

  5. Mayor Caviar is an aragent, self centered liar and is in city hall having temper tantrums every time his misuse, incompetent and vision less leadership is exposed. Most of us ciry employees see it daily with his "cabinent and Administration", they couldn't lead us out the building, let alone into a progresive, prosperous future.

  7. Please let the grieving family be at peace. I don't know the family, but i'm sure that all this info is not going to do anything but add to their grief. If it makes anyone feel better, I will reimburse the city of Hartford, for taking care of the family's expenses. Peace to all

  8. Recall the nut, Hartford does not and should not tolerate this mega moron and fool.

Hartford historically has been a great city of commerce, forwardness and invention, and what we have is 2 nickel fake who is more interested on portraying an anti Cinderella.

The history of this city should not be blemished by a freak who goes around eating $700 worth of fish eggs while this city's poor lives on less than $5.00 per day for 3 meals a day.

Mierda, please resign, your are beginning to look and act like those Latin American dictator or pigs who have exploited our people- Pedro, go away, you have debased was a latino/a Is.

  9. Aida,

It is not about the family or the reimbursement, It is about the Mayor and his sense of entitlement that he can do whatever he wants with taxpayer dollars as he runs the City into the ground.

I feel bad the family was ever drawn into this but it was an incompetent mayor and staff who created the problem.

Where do you draw the line ?

  11. As always Mr Pedro has Hartford taxpayers upset. They have reason to be angry. Hartford residents are kind and caring. If Mr Mayor and his wild west cabinent would JUST think before they react. But the situation is to far gone. The cabinet including Linda Bayer must resign NOW!!! Oh, Saundra and Terry must pay the Hartford taxpayers the money they owe for the SMASHED CAR!!! Payment due now before Mr Mayor sweeps it under his dirty rug.

  12. Mismanagement of Hartford taxpayers money and a lack of respect for Hartford residents is a real problem for Mayor Pedro. He is in denial. I just wish he would go back to wear he came from. Or we could just stop paying him a salary and he could be saved by Charlie. Let's do it and demand his resignation. Sorry Pedro you are out and Charlie has to take care of you.....

  13. why didn't Sanchez raise money from employees to contribute towards the funeral bill? Who in their right mind would think the city is allowed to pay for funerals? Most workplaces would raise money amongst employees to chip in.
