WHY SHOULDN'T THIS BE HARTFORD?

The quick answer: extremely high taxes, a lack of vision by City leaders  an unfriendly business climate and an unwillingness to " think outside the box".

  1. Kevin, if this gets built, this is another nail in the coffin for retail in downtown. I recall a few years ago a company wanted to build an outlet mall like this in Hartford's North Meadows. That obviously went nowhere because of the reasons you mentioned. The state can subsidize and build as many apartments downtown as they want, all of those future residents will have to leave the city at some point to go shopping.
