NORTH DISTRICT CSO'S MAKING A DIFFERENCE

TEC-9 RECOVERED BY HPD OFFICERS YESTERDAY

Up until recently, North District Community Service Officers had been restricted to a Monday through Friday daytime schedule. Fortunately that has changed and two CSO's scheduled to work last night started their shift by recovering the machine gun pictured  above. The Tec-9 with the extended clip was recovered from two suspects who dumped it on Nelson Street.

Officer's Pepler and Rinaldi observed the vehicle operating at a high rate of speed in the area of Garden and Westland Street. As they attempted to stop the vehicle the front passenger exited the SUV with a laptop bag. Officer Pepler recovered the bag containing the Tec-9 and Officer Rinaldi blocked the fleeing vehicle and apprehended the operator and the passenger.

Angel Gonzalez , 27 , of 133 Westland Street and Jerry McKeithan , 33, of 2604 Main Street were both taken into custody and charged with Possession of an assault weapon, Possession of a high capacity magazine, criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, and carrying a pistol without a permit

The weapon recovered is a Intratec Model AB-10 with a 30 round clip. In addition, 36 rounds of 9mm ammunition , $481.00 in cash and a small amount of marijuana was recovered in the vehicle. The weapon had been reported stolen from a Garden Street address in 2003.

A great job by Officer's Pepler and Rinaldi and all other assisting officer's getting a very dangerous weapon off Hartford's streets

That is what real cops do. Its not just the lockdown of ford, but sticking mertes in a hole to keep the rest of the dept safe . The loss of Tracey green frees up two full time workers comp employees . So the city will save some cabbage .
That is what the next italian association prez does everyday!!!!!!

  10. At least the task force will survive since ob is in charge. Gg and sonia will create the biggest pile of internal complaints and civil suits for their lack of experience and people skills. I have said it once .... I will say it again ......
Patrol leads the way. U hear me rovella. Patrol was here before you and will be here long after. FACT!

  12. Give the promotions a chance, they aren't even a week old yet. OB has been a great supervisor and I'm sure he will make Lance proud in his new position.

  13. Anonymous 10:57pm,

    I completely agree.

Taking on a bully isn't always easy. I commend Pepler and the others who stepped forward on Rinaldi's behalf and told the truth

    1. Why would you commend anyone for telling the truth? Isn't that part of the job?

  14. I would love to give the promotions a chance but how much faith can one have when you have LT Watson, who almost quite the police academy if it wasn't for Hightower begging her to stay, run a division. Then she was allowed to leave the academy early on a daily basis because of what she claimed were daycare issues, I think it's more like she couldn't handle the PT. Then there's Paul West, are you kidding me, he shouldn't even be a cop. And last but not least, good ole GG. This is the person who supervised Tishay Johnson while in backgrounds/pistol permits, need I say more. Then the background unit gets dismantled and she gets taken care of by putting her in charge of domestic violence, another flop. So now because Rovella promised her a DC spot so he puts her in Major Crimes???? Kevin you should ask Rovella why he didn't put GG IN CHARGE of STF Like he originally wanted too. This move is a disgrace to all the former great commanders of MCD, Cliff Smith, Sigersmith, Hawkins, etc.

  15. The promotions are a joke....half the people promoted wouldn't be hired to shovel elephant dung for Ringling Bros.....do yourself a favor and look into D. Thorpe and Rodriguez Velez....both flunkies from other departments that were on their way to being terminated....the city is a joke and HPD is its punchline...
