Apparently there was a brush up last night between Councilman DeJesus and an indignant Council President Shawn Wooden. The incident arose over a question Dejesus raised on agenda item 3, a resolution to give a City owned building on Broad Street to the Zacco Group for $1.00. Yes you read that right, one dollar. The issue arose when Dejesus questioned who the Zacco Group is and why we are giving them a property for $1.00. Apparently the Council President felt that Councilman Dejesus had no reason to question his vote . We all know that this Council under Wooden is supposed to blindly follow and rubber stamp the Segarra agenda.
There is still no answer as to who the Zacco Group is and why Segarra feels obligated to give them the Broad Street property for almost nothing The lot is too small for a baseball stadium so who knows.
Congratulations to Councilman Dejesus for attempting to protect the interests of the voters who put him there. Shame on Council President Wooden for being a roadblock to the Democratic process.
And shame on this corrupt mayor PEDRO CAVIAR SEGARRA.
ReplyDeleteZacco is a consulting firm in Europe with offices in Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany.
ReplyDeleteThere's no Zacco Group registered with CT Dept. of State.
Where are you Jon Lender?
Councilman DeJesus, shame on you for questioning the Wooden man on something that was decided between him and the caviar mayor in secrecy, behind closed doors.
ReplyDeleteWhy are you all bitching, at least the city is getting a whole $1 in this deal.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, is this an all cash transaction?
The Zacco Group, is this the cartel operating in Mexico? What is Pedro getting from them in exchange?
ReplyDeleteZaaco Group is a New York LLC formed at the end of 2014 for this transaction. A lawyer on Long Island is the agent for service. Obviously, someone should ask who are the people behind the LLC getting this great deal.
ReplyDeleteWHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHY ARE THEY GETTING THIS PROPERTY FOR FREE
ReplyDeleteActually Zacco (not zaaco) Group is an IP law firm out of Europe. Mr. Wooden is a partner at Day Pitney, L.P. - Also a large intellectual property firm with ties to Zacco in industry circles. Likelyhood that this is a taxpayer funded favor or payback for a colleague or boss is a possibility... But just speculating.
ReplyDeleteCould be some connection to Wooden's day job. His parent firm Day Pitney L.P. is a large IP law firm, as is Zacco Group. Perhaps a favor for a colleague or superior?
ReplyDeleteA mayor who gives city property to anyone for $1 only has absolutely no respect for properties in his city. The only respect this mayor has is to a certain property located at 7XX Prospect Ave.
ReplyDeleteSegarra started by giving SAMA their property for $1. They flipped a portion for $500,000 & didn't pay what they owe to the city.
ReplyDeleteThen Segarra neglected to collect property taxes, and continue not to collect, from El Mercado on Park St.
Now, once again, another property being sold/given away for $1.
What about hundred of thousands of $$$, city money given as a loan by Segarra to Mr. and Mrs. Jones that was never paid back
ReplyDeleteit's not Segarra's money, he doesn't care

ReplyDeleteAny slate that Wooden is on will be tainted with corruption
ReplyDeleteWhere on Broad Street is this city owned building? Is this purchase about gentrification in the near future or more political favors and kickbacks?
ReplyDeleteI will give the City $2 for that property. Double you money.
ReplyDeletewho cares Zacco, Zapp or Zaaco, it's a property Segarra and Wooden give away for nothing, and what are we getting for it
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous 12:28 a.m.: Wooden will be running on Luke Bronin's slate. He's already hired a corrupt campaign treasurer--Noel McGregor.

ReplyDeleteImportant question I think Councilman Dejesus was correct in asking without the theatrics and the tirade of the Council President. And I think we also have the right to know
Councilman DeJesus, as well as the public, has no right to ask anything or question what Segarra and Wooden do. This is Segarra's and Wooden's show, they decide anything and everything, secretly, behind closed doors. It's their way or no other way.
ReplyDeletePedrito is DOA, Council members have already cut deals with Luke B.
ReplyDeleteWho got the money $Money ? - Not Jamal DD, what a loser!!!
Its the Zaaco Group, LLC. (two A's one C) It appears to be in Massapequa, Long Island. Formed in December 2014.

Noel McGregor Jr. must have mixed emotions as he leaves his position as Hartford Democratic town chairman after six years. On the one hand, he did little to restore the town committee to the position of influence it once held, or to do such things as increase voter registration.
On the other hand, he made a bundle of money over the period doing business with the city.

20 years ago we got a relatively sane Mayor and Council over despite the Dem Town Committee. Is that still possible today for someone like Judge Killian? Is the pool of sane pols in the Capital City empty, incapable of providing a management team to support a competent CEO?
------------
The longtime judge said spending on pension and retirement plans for elected officials is also rampant. He wants to see a change from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution system for future elected officials.
"That just doesn’t make any sense," he said.
Killian said it’s one of the reasons Hartford faces future deficits in the tens of millions of dollars.
"It doesn’t do anything for the city at large. The problem is it’s broke. We’re flat busted broke and we have limited potential for seeing improvement either in the short term or the long term," he explained.

Macgregor is another Hartford crook, and more of the same corrupt politics if Bronin is working with him. Macgregor was forced to resign from HPD to avoid arrest when he was caught stealing gas from CNG at his restaurant on Albany Avenue
ReplyDeleteBronin was told about McGregor but appointed him Treasurer of his campaign anyway.Lou Watkins, another corrupt politician is supporting Bronin also.Another corrupt politician and phoney activist,Steve Harris is also supporting Bronin.By the time he gets to sit in the Mayor's chair he will be completely encircled with corrupt characters, and nothing will change.
ReplyDeleteIn this case we have to move rapidly to support Judge Killian, for his honesty, for his understanding what the real problems are.
ReplyDeleteTHE ZAACO GROUP LLC - is listed on the secretary of state's website. The agent for the company is listed as Thomas Nenortas who I understand is a good friend of the mayor. The principal of the company is Omar Wala who looks like owns or has owned several companies in New York and Florida. There is also a pending criminal drug case with an Omar Wala in NY - may not be the same person. Although google doesn't show many omar wala's.
