SECRET MEETINGS DON'T BUILD COMMUNITY CONFIDENCE

According to the Hartford Courant Editorial today, Mayor Segarra will today meet privately with "selected community members".

Bad idea Mayor .I know you are trying to look like a leader since you squandered five years of possible involvement, but not this  way. People, especially Hartford residents, need to have confidence in their leaders and secret meetings do not instill confidence. Yes, maybe you are doing something, but who will know?

I think you already know there is not a lot of trust and confidence in your administration and do you really think they are going to take your word for it?

And just for clarification , who are these "selected Community members" I notice the term "community leaders" wasn't used Are they your campaign supporters. I would imagine they aren't campaign donors, because if they were Hartford people, that seems like a very small group.

This is a conversation that needs to be held in the open , publicly. The public is who is being impacted most by this violence and they are the ones that need to be reassured. A room full of Segarra  supporters, patting the Mayor on the back, serves no one.  Pedro needs to hear the harsh reality of his failures, not the hand clapping of supporters waiting for the next grant check from the City

 People are dying.

As one person familiar with the meeting today said "too little too late"

  3. The "secret" meeting with the "selected" community members today is just another trick to get some more air time for free. After all, air time is extremely expensive, why not get it for free.

  4. A meeting discussing murders and increase in crime in Hartford. Yo, Pedro, how bout having this kind of meeting before the murders and the increase in crime, to prevent the murders and the increase in crime. Tell us what your plans are, Pedrito, but you don't have shit. And if you were really serious, you would not invite all the cameras and all the media to your ^pre election show^. This is all cheap talk, Pedro, garbage talk, blaming everyone but yourself. You're responsible Pedro but you failed big time. Failure after failure, nonstop failures. Enough with you already, just go, go away.

  5. "TOO LITTLE TOO LATE", that's precisely the way it should be presented.
Hey, UConn, is this the environment you're gonna bring your students to? I'm going elsewhere.

  6. SERIOUSLY SEGARRA, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE PAST 5 YEARS?

  7. Segarra thinks he's fooling all of us. Let's fool him on election day.

  8. Mr. Brrokman got it all wrong. Mayor Caviar had this secret meeting to discuss his new proposal for yet another stadium in Hartford. This Caviar guy could teach any municipality how to build a multi million stadium when you're broke.

  9. The best solution is reactive not proactive policing. when you call 911 the option for a white Spanish or black officer what ever your preference will be sent.

  10. Pedro always has private meetings. He has a lot to hide. He is afraid of community members helping him. Because he just dose not get it. Pedro and Charlie Oritz think they are above the law.

  11. Pedro is asking now for more state funds. Now? Where were you last month? Where were you 3 months ago, you moron?

  12. Here's my plan to reduce crime in our city: everybody stays home for the next several months - or at least until election day. Everybody. This way we'll have no shootings, no killings, no stabbings in the streets.
Your government assistance checks wil be delivered to your home.

  13. After a burst of violance, Segarra is calling for a PRIVATE MEETING to discuss this. PRlVATE MEETING, but he and Maribel La Lose already called the media to announce his "ideas" and what was discussed in that PRIVATE MEETING. He also wants the public to participate in what was discussed in that PRIVATE MEETING.
This is nothing but a lsst minute game before the election. All the participants in that PRIVATE MEETING are big time suckers, he's using you all in his miserable campaign

  14. Give me, give me, give me more money. That's the only thing Pedro knows.
Yo, Pedro, you're a big joke!

  15. Here is a quote from the Hartford Courant:

"Police Chief Rovella said he was down 70 to 90 police officers... Rovella has cautioned city leaders in recent years that the department is losing staff faster than it can replace them."

This is by far the biggest issue that must be investigated. Hey, Pedro, what have you done about it?
YOU ARE TO BE BLAMED PEDRO, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!!

  16. The fish stinks from the head. Ehere are you Segarra? How about another "task force"?

  17. Those participants in that secret or private or meeting, whatever you call that meeting, are being used by Segarra and his campaign people as background dummies for his ambition, for his reelection campaign and for cover up of his mismanagement.
Wake up people, Segarra is simply using you!

  18. I agree, Segarra is using these "participants" as background only. He doesn't really want them around, but it looks better on TV when they're all standing around him

  20. last night:
"A MAN SHOT IN THE HEAD DURING HARTFORD SHOOTOUT, POLICE SAY...THE VICTIM IS LISTED IN CRITICAL BUT STABLE CONDITION...OFFICERS FOUND 16 ROUNDS FROM GUNS OF 3 DIFFERENT CALIBERS."
I suggest another secret meeting at city hall. Media will be invited to show we're doing something.

  23. Rev. Brown must leave immediately any meeting, any discussion involving Segarra, now that evetybody agrees that Segarra is phoney, full of fake promises who's there just to promote himself.
