WOODEN DECIDES TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR HARTFORD

"Just keep talking, I  can't hear you with my headphones on"

According to sources within the Hartford Democratic Town Committee, Council President Shawn Wooden  has informed DTC Chairman Marc Dibella that he will not be seeking re-election. Wooden has had a very difficult year and has been widely criticized by Hartfordite's as being "out of touch" with his constituents as well as his waffling on the Stadium deal. Wooden was also criticized for his condescending attitude toward many of his constituents, especially those that disagreed with him publicly.

Wooden's political start was also an issue with many people after he originally announced his candidacy for Mayor years ago  and then backed out after an announcement  apparently orchestrated by Governor Malloy. The deal for Wooden to drop out was never fully realized after Pedro Segarra apparently backed out of his portion of the deal, but that was after the election so the deal was already sealed.

UPDATE: 9:00pm My knowledge of Hartford politics doesn't go back far enough apparently.. Wooden's start in elected politics in Hartford wasn't his ill fated Mayoral run, it was actually  his ill fated campaign against  Senator Eric Coleman 15 or 20 years ago, where he suffered the same fate he did in his latest run against Coleman- defeat. Actually he dropped out when the race became heated, something he might have been wise to do in last falls challenge again of  Senator Coleman.

For history sake, make note that Pedro Segarra does not have the title "Judge" before his name, and most likely never will

  1. Segarra would be a horrible "Judge" as he has no backbone.

  2. Unfortunately Soso was taken down due to threats by the Moving Forward in Circles Campaign.

  3. Segarra would be a horrible Judge based on his track record, but then again he has also been a horrible Mayor

  4. Kevin is jealous, while Pedro S. doesn't have the judge title, he does have the "caviar" title attached to his name. Kevin doesn't.

I never had caviar and don't think I ever will, but if I did, I would pay for it myself, not on the backs of my neighbors

    1. You have no idea what you're missing Kevin, for not trying caviar. Good caviar is truly expensive, especially if you take it the Pedro Segarra way, being paid for by the tax payers.

    2. 9:41pm don't you worry, Pedro's caviar days are almost over, Pedro is a done deal as "mayor", his time is over. He better get used to stay at home or, even better, get used to sitting in jail.

  9. Wooden better take his waffling, bobble head boy, Kyle Anderson with him. Anderson & Wooden were Pedro's bribe boys for Pedro's "Dumb Deals".

  10. If it is true that Wooden won't be running for reelection, this is great news for Hartford all the way around! Good riddance to a clueless elitist lawyer who claims he doesn't see color, that is out of touch with constituents, and a terrible leader on the council. He should go back to his masters at Day Pitney and never get involved in politics again.

  11. Bubble head Wooden with his stupid smile is not running. Ask him to do us a favor: quit his job.

  12. Ask Wooden something else:
    1. How much Dunkin Donuts will be paying for the ballpark naming rights?
    2. Why did Moody's downgrade Hartford's debt and issued a negative outlook for Hartford?
    3. Between you and Pedro, who should we hold responsible to the collapse of Hartford?

  13. Go, Wooden bubble head, just go away.

  14. HOW MUCH DUNKIN DONUTS WILL BE PAYING FOR THE BALL PARK NAMING RIGHTS?
Shawn, just answer this already, we have the right to know.
