(July
29, 2015) Tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.,
Mayor Pedro E. Segarra will join Congressman
John B. Larson and Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty at a community forum on the
recent violence in Hartford.---
WHO : Mayor Segarra,
Congressman Larson and Congresswoman Esty
WHAT : Mayor Segarra,
Congressman Larson and Congresswoman Esty participate in forum on recent
violence in Hartford
WHEN : Thursday, July
30, 2015; 5:30 p.m.
WHERE : Parker
Memorial Community Center; 2621 Main Street, Hartford
Segarra never showed up.
You would think that is you had a Congressman and a Congresswoman from a district that doesn't include Hartford, willing to meet and listen the Mayor would be there. Nope, Segarra was a no show even after announcing he would be there. He claims he had a scheduling conflict, and no one from his office would say what that conflict was. Even Congresswoman Esty apparently was unaware why Segarra bailed.
Well here was the conflict. Segarra was seen by sources exiting the Fox 61 Television Studios last night after recording a segment for the Real Story, a Sunday morning news show. Segarra can't meet with residents of one of the most violent areas of the City to discuss crime, but he can make it a point to get to a television studio to record an appearance. Segarra can travel to the White House to discuss Hartford's crime issues but he can't travel to North Hartford. Maybe the resident's of North Hartford would ask some tough questions he just doesn't want to answer.
Segarra did send a lackluster Councilperson in his place. Councilman Kyle Anderson chairs the Council's Public Safety Committee, the same committee that has overseen the decimation of staffing levels a the Hartford Police Department.
Segarra also sent COO Daryl Hill in his place. Mr. Mayor we didn' t elect Mr. Hill. The community deserves answers and solutions from you. Hopefully they will take your disrespect for the community into consideration an not elect you again either. After 41 years here, you think you would have learned some respect for our City and its residents
The man with a high paid scheduler had a scheduling conflict, WTF.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the schedule, the scheduler, the schedulist, the schedulest., the scheduling...
DeleteHow about blaming the "scheduling conflict" on the iPad this high paid scheduler is using?
Segarra has no reepect for the people of the North End.
ReplyDeleteSegarra has no respect for the Community Leaders.
Segarra has no reepect for Reps. Larson and Esty.
Segarra has no reepect for ALL HARTFORD RESIDENTS.
How can this be a "scheduling issue" when he confirmed he'd be there but still didn't show up.
ReplyDeleteSegarra sent Hilda Loves Tacos Munoz to announce his scheduling issue lie.
ReplyDeleteSegarra had enough money to hire her unbudgeted, unnecessary COMMUNICATION OFFICER job but didn't have the money to hire budgeted, necessary POLICE OFFICERS.
Here is Pedro Caviar priorities:
Police officers - no. Communication officer for his public relations - yes.
Shame on you Segarra.
Maybe Pedro just couldn't show up after all the recent bad news related to him like the huge insult and embarrassment at the Dem. Towm Comm., like living in Florida when he claimed he lived here for 41 years, like mishandling his own finances and filing for bankruptcy protection, like his illegal activity with prostitutes/escorts "Touch of Class" and money exchanging hands takk and more.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't expect him to show up with bad news like this.
While the community meeting was going on the mayor was at a fundraiser before taping the Fox61 show.
ReplyDeleteSegara for four more years he's the only real true honest option an answer for the city!!!
ReplyDeletePedro Caviar was a no show at this important anti-violence forum. Remember, he blames people from John Larson's district and Elizabeth Espy's district for all the murders committed in Hartford (ss well as dumping their snow in Hartford), so how can he sit next to these two respected U.S. Representatives without any shame?
ReplyDeleteEvery morning we all wake up to find out what a disastrous mayor Pedro Caviar is. Every single morning.
ReplyDeletePedrito busy at a fundraiser. Pedrito busy taping at FoxCT. Why care, why spend any time with some unimportant forum discussing crime? So what if we've had 19 murders so far this year?
ReplyDeleteThe World According to Pedro.
Pedro spent last week a day or two in D.C., at the White House, discussing crime. He now considers himself an expert in crime (not sure if it's commiting crime, fighting crime or preventing crime, he can choose whatever he wants). As a result, after his trip to the White House of all places, he doesn't need to spend any time in the North End of all other places, with some Congressmen talking about crime or something.
ReplyDeleteDon't try to downgrade Segarra and his ego from the white house just a week ago to the north end this week. Don't even think about it, it ain't gonna work.

ReplyDeleteThe real reason why the murder and crime rate has gone up in Hartford just like Baltimore. Not due to a understaffed shooting team. The patrol division knows that the chief only has his best intrests in mind and doesn't have their back. Its easier to keep your job and stay out of jail when you only take 911 calls and hide for 80% of the other time. No incentives to bust your butt being proactive. Shooting team doesnt prevent these 19 homicides. In the end everyone knows patrol can stop or prevent the shootings yet the chief doesn't want to loose his baby, the shooting task force. Ask yourself why VNN has come up with more guns this year than STF.
Your pretty far off from reality savior.....when has patrol EVER been pro-active? The answer is......NEVER. A few handful of patrolman, in percentage like maybe 1%, have ever been pro-active, and that's why they've moved on from patrol. Maybe one pro-active patrolman in the entire city, Officer Nelson, and he's not much longer for patrol either. Everyone knows patrol can stop or prevent the shootings?!?! You have got to be drunk, high or delusional.
ReplyDeleteWhat about stackowitz?
ReplyDeletePatrolman get the most amount of OT on a weekly basis. What have they brought to the table savior?
ReplyDelete@ 10 44 / 77
ReplyDeleteClearly you arn't in patrol or your just another lazy slug upstairs. Patrol hasn't been proactive in the last 2 years. Before then when you got a good group of guys corners would be cleared and code 2s would be coming in on a daily basis. This all stems from pratrolmen realizing Rovela does not care for them or have their backs. There are a ton of good cops on b and c squad patrol who want to do good. But in the end its not worth loosing your job or freedom over especially when you have a chief who you know won't back you up or even provide you with the most necessary resources. On top of that with all the cop hate going around and discrimination against white officers why the hell would anyone stick their neck out knowing Rovella is only there to snap it in half?
Hopefully hero patrol officer stachowicz was terminated as he should've been a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteName one officer Rovella hasn't backed? I can sure think of many that have been backed.....Cotto, Ware, Salkeld, Fogg, to name a few. Stop making excuses for being lazy. FACT; This is only coming from a couple lazy incompetent zeros such as Kessler, Rutkauski and Reynolds.
ReplyDeleteReally? What are you on. First he marches with protesters in the Ward's case, when we know he was justified. Then he says he does not condemn or justify Brian's actions, when Brian and Fogg were justified. And with Jenkins he goes to the scene first instead of checking on his officer. How in the heck do you call that backing his people up? Look what he has done with conditions and vnn. Almost dismantled those units. Go crawl back up his.....
DeleteWard's case? Did you mean Ware? Or you just can't spell? You didn't answer the question. Name one person that in the end has been disciplined or not backed for any use of force.....you can't do that. Jenkins will be cleared also turd. Ask Ware, Fogg, Salkeld or Cotto if they felt the chief backed them. I'm sure you've probably never had to use force behind your desk at 608.....so go crawl back under the desk you crawled out from under.
DeleteYour an idiot! He didn't discipline them because they were justified! However he pro actively had IA investigate them. Really?? Why would he do that? A real chief would stand 100% by his officers , especially knowing they are justified. He never publicly said that he stands by his officers. He always sends the wrong message. Why after the Ware incident did the Union Hpd the press conference? Open your eyes you turd. Why after the salkeld and fogg incident the Union has a meeting with the mayor? Don't be blinded. You idiot....
DeleteYour last post really shows your competency level. You make no sense whatsoever. "Why after the Ware incident did the union Hpd the press conference"? What on earth are you trying to say? You are the absolute idiot and by reading your post you make that obvious. You are clueless regarding police administration. A chief can easily dictate how an IA investigation goes to suit his own agenda like Roberts used to do. This chief has not done that. High profile use of force incidents, justified or not, will always be investigated you turd. That should be welcomed you idiot, to not only clear the officer of any wrongdoing and justify his actions, but to also show the public that use of force can and will be used to effect an arrest of a non-compliant subject. Idiot, you need to transfer to the rubbers and go spray water on fires, sounds more up your alley.
DeleteWell said 11:59 AM. 8:49 AM is absolutely clueless, his post can definitely be narrowed down to one of the fabulous 4. James can at least complete a sentence, so probably Mikey.
DeleteThe obtuse thinking of one Jill Kidik is that she would have actually even passed the Sgt exam. I would even gamble even with the answers she would not even score a 50.
ReplyDeleteSo go around running your mouth some more with your non department issue pink handcuffs. Dont you realize the reason you will never get traffic or any other position of lets say trust, being that you get more 29s then an entire shift combined.
So cry a river to the union, or hire a good West Hartford attorney to lay down and fight for you.
This isn't about Jill, leave her alone, at least she tries and for the most part does her job.
ReplyDeleteI think Kidik could run MCD 1000 times better than GG any day.
ReplyDeleteYou obviously are an officer defending kidik. You go and complete the dozen packets of 29 packets that she creates. If you mean she tries by sitting in the officer room half her shift texting on her pink phone, then i concur with you. In fact, i hope she gets promoted immediately to hit the mean streets!!!!
ReplyDeletewith the current climate of police and communities in this country right now why would any white person want to be a police officer in a predominantly black or Hispanic town or city? I'm pretty sure you all saw the video of the Cinncinatti officer blowing out the unarmed black guys brains then lying on his report and being arrested and charged with murder. Bond was a million dollars and he bonded out the same day, and numerous people across America raised funds for him which is their right but what type of message you think that sends to people of color? Not to mention the union of that department demanded he get his job back. Now to Hartford as a resident in this city I can tell you that most young people between the ages of 15-30 do not trust the police because of Officers like Stachowitz, Kidik,Kessler, etc etc the list goes on and on and I do remember when a group of officers got spider webs tattoeed on their elbows which everyone knows is the mark of Aryan White Supremacists, so what was the message they were trying to tell the community?? Hartford police have a long history of Racism within the department and towards the community!
ReplyDeleteWFSB 3 reported that Segarra decided on Sunday to put his re-election campaign on hold due to the increase in violence. The article about Saturday night's shooting, in which a 25 year old died, mentioned the campaign hasn't put out any official statements yet.
ReplyDeleteKevin, any word if this is true? Could it be that Segarra is backing out of the reelection race knowing he can't win?
Segarra put his re-election campaign on hold for that night only, so he could continue having fun and dance the night away, in his own words.
DeleteSegarra's campaign on hold? Segarra's campaign should stop all together, he should resign and go home.
ReplyDelete"THE CRIME, STUPID."
ReplyDeleteRemember James Carville phrase "It's The Economy, Stupid" that got Clinton elected? "THE CRIME, STUPID" must be Luke Bronin phrase.
Savior, it's clearly apparent you do not understand the function of the shooting task force. Try reading some emails or watching the news that details their numerous arrests over recent weeks maybe then you can attempt to make an educated statement. Furthermore, take a look at the departments crime statistics ( it's distributed weekly for COMSTAT) you will see a distinct pattern that violent crime was at its lowest when STF was fully staffed. As the department again re-staffs the unit I guarantee a drop in violent crime will again occur. You need to take some ownership of your own career and why you have failed to advance. Your a perfect example of a disgruntled, blame everyone but yourself officer, that is deteriorating this department. Stop blaming the department and the chief for your failures and make the needed changes to excel. Take the time to speak with members of STF, I know for the fact they will drop everything to help out any officer, maybe then you can receive some guidance to get your career back on track. Have some pride in that badge on your chest, have some pride in your appearance in uniform, and go out there and do your job and serve the community, maybe then you will understand career satisfaction and stop your crying.
ReplyDeleteThe fabulous four, you mean kessler, rustokwski, reynolds, and who else ?
ReplyDeleteFantastic / Fabulous Four = Reynolds, Kessler, J. Rutkawski and Maghini.
DeleteSo did stackowitz lay the smack down on rovella ?? What is the update?
ReplyDeleteOnce we get Pedro Segarra out things will fall in it's place.
ReplyDeleteUnderstand this moving forward. In any controversial use of force incident, (even if only perceived contravertial by some of the public) a police chief has to remain neutral while it is investigated. PERIOD. Dopes who don't grasp that very basic necessity deserve there place in the fantastic four. Again, name one cop who the chief disciplined who he should not have. You can't. In fact, I can think of a couple of item A's who have been promoted.
ReplyDeleteHPD needs a serious shake up. We've got to wait for Segarra to be out of office first.
DeleteWell said 9:59AM.
