NO PLACE FOR RACISM, HPD TERMINATES STACHOWITZ

According to sources within the Hartford Police Department, Kamil Stachowitz has been terminated as of today. Stachowitz was the focus of an Internal Affairs complaint after reports of his racist rants at the Foxwood's Casino surfaced earlier this year. You can read the report of that incident here:http://wethepeoplehartford.blogspot.com/2015/05/no-place-for-racist-cops-at-hpd.html.

The IAD report was reviewed by Chief James Rovella and a departmental disciplinary  hearing was held. The hearing officer, Captain Achilles Rethis. then submitted his findings to Rovella for his review, Rethis's recommendation was termination for Stachowitz and his conduct.

According to one HPD source, "It was a long process, but the cancer has been removed" referring to Stachowitz and his racist behavior. Stachowitz has been the focus of numerous IAD and citizen complaints

  1. Maybe, but at that point it won't be HPD's fault, it will be the Labor Board or the Courts. HPD did the right thing. It is hard to ask or the public's trust if you condone racist behavior

  2. Yea well they kept people like Kessler an Jill Kiddick who got far more complaints for racism on the north end than kamil ever did an you can check that out for yourself kamil wasn't part of the good ole boy network with a decent lawyer I hope he exposes all the other racist cops in that department starting with Capt Rethis who reported back to the chief

  4. racist behavior
    --------------------------
Officer Stach behaved badly while inebriated at a casino on quasi-sovereign Indian territory. (You don't mind if I say "Indian" do you?) In the course of his misbehavior he insulted an "African American Tribal Police Officer," a Native-Amercian/African-American cop, by disparaging one of his races. If he has misbehaved while operating as a Hartford municipal cop punish him within his employment contractual guidelines. Don't punish him, or at least don't fire him, for intemperate racial insults made off duty.

we have kessler and ford, making racist comments on duty. kessler and ford are far worse.

this new chief is not qualified at all. this will cost the city tons of money with upcoming lawsuits.

  8. I agree that what you do and how you conduct yourself "off-duty" matters! But equally so is what you do on duty. If you have staff acting the same way on duty then they should be fired!!!

  10. Hey dumb dumb last comment.....
Since your such an advocate for stackowitz and other habitual troubled officers, why dont you throw a pasta dinner to pay for his legal defense ? Or run a lemonade stand in the gravel employee lot .....
This job is pretty simple , show up , ( not even in a timely manner) and make 100k. Its pretty simple. Stackowitz is just as stupid as will smith who sent a bullet in the mail and then let an arrested person free because he was lazy .....

  11. Where are the missing bolts from the rifles... That investigation is being burried i see.... The feds should take a look

  12. Missing bolts? Obviously some brain child doesn't know what's going on at the range. Jon and jimmy wouldn't even let me keep the 4 exta duty rounds in my box of ammo!! The range was a blast even though I got my uniform dirty and I learned stuff to keep me alive. Besides it was ammo missing not rifle bolts!
