Pedro Caviar Segarra shares his thoughts on Dunkin Donuts Park. Gee, I didn't hear s--t from Pedro that he bankrupted Hartford, that we have to pay for this s--t in the next TWENTY FIVE
Let's have the discussion about the role of an "Authority" being used as a substitute for a referendum. Why is there no discussion on those? If we had been given a vote on the stadium, it would have been voted down. The stadium was heavily lobbied by all the financial interests. And btw, none of them live in Hartford to pay the debt on the park.
So Kevin, I ask you, do some digging. Where in our municipal code does an "Authority " arise? What is its history?
this has already been discussed extensively, both here and at public meetings. Th Municipal code would have required a referendum before spending the money. Segarra and his cohorts knew that would never pass so they conjured up the plan for an "Authority". From what I understand, the authority for an "Authority" came from State statutes and took the control away from local residents for the projects approval, and here we are today and for the next 25 years of debt
Kev, Get the Goat fever!! The stadium is AWESOME !! All this complaining and we have the best minor league stadium in the country. People are having a great time at the games, bringing families and friends together is great for the city. Hartford Has It!!!
I understand why an authority was empaneled. So the discussion should take place at the state level to recind this statute. If an "authority" essentially removes from the public, a say in such important and far reaching developments, then it should end. This is the point I am making, Kevin. We now have a boondoggle of a commitment. Let's at least give future generations the ability to approve or reject such developments.
This is my only point. I know why this authority was formed. Now let's change that statute.
Hysterical

Pedrito put on a goat costume months ahead of Halloween, but the voice and the tone are definitely Pedrito's.

ReplyDeleteYou should pay a close attention to the video: The other goat's voice in that video is actually Charlie O.'s voice.
