NO EXCUSE, MOVE THOSE CARS

At this point, no one can say thy didn't know Hartford was serious about enforcing their Winter parking bans. A parking ban has been issued for all Hartford public streets in anticipation of tonight's predicted snow storm. The parking bans are necessary to clear Hartford's streets for snow plowing operations.

A Citywide parking ban will be in effect from 11:00PM tonight, (Sunday) until 11:00PM tomorrow (Monday)

During a snow emergency parking ban, all on-street parking is prohibited throughout the City of Hartford. Any vehicles not removed from City streets by the start of the parking ban will be ticketed and towed. Residents without access to off-street parking should move their vehicles to one of the following authorized parking areas before the start of the parking ban:

•       Morgan Street Garage

•       2 Holcomb Street Lot

•       Keney Park Entrance Lot—Ridgefield Street

•       KDA Center Lot—Naugatuck Street

•       Pope Park Center Lot—Park Terrace

•       Metzner Center Lot—Franklin Avenue

•       Colt Park Lot—Wawarme Avenue

•       Elizabeth Park Lots

•       All Hartford Schools Parking Lots beginning today at 3:00pm

Residents should remove their vehicles from the lots promptly following the end of the parking ban. Residents whose vehicles are towed during the parking ban should contact the Hartford Police Department at (860) 757-4000. The cost for retrieving a towed vehicle is $93.59. An additional $99.00 ticket will be issued which owners are responsible for paying before the answer date. Please visit http://www.hartford.gov/snow-parking for a list of snow emergency parking locations, and for information regarding towed vehicles.

Anyone in need of shelter is urged to call 211. As long as the temperatures are below 25 degrees, the following shelters will be open 24 hours:

Be sure to remove your vehicle from school lots  promptly at the end of the ban . Hartford Schools are strict about clearing their lots for school operations and vehicles impeding school use after the ban is over will be towed to clear the lots.

Also, if possible, try to check on your disabled or elderly neighbors during or after the storm

  2. How much in OT is traffic division allocated for these details?

  3. Anonymous 8{49,

I have no idea how much OT is allocated but at $100,00 per snow tow ticket, I think it is overall a revenue generator for the City, but I don't think any of that directly makes it back to the HPD budget

  4. HFD Drinks for Free,

Thanks for your well wishes for the Patriots win. Hopefully the results will turn out similar for your boy Segarra and his "thrown" or throne if that is what you meant. Good usually wins out over evil

  6. Today is the last day to pay taxes, property taxes, real estate taxes, motor vehicle taxes, but city hall is closed. Locked. Why don't they announce something? Is there an extension until city hall is open again? There's no indication on hartford.gov
WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?

  7. How much OT is traffic division allocated for these details?? Seriously???? Does it matter? Can you imagine the city streets with cars parked all over during a snow storm? Great job traffic!!!!
Maybe be more concerned with how the PJ Sergeant makes over $200k a year with a Monday to Friday 800 - 400pm schedule, and nobody has ever seen him working a PJ.....but that's ok. That's about two phantom PJ's a day.

  8. JUST DO NOT PAY YOUR TAXES.....LRT PEDRO PAY IT!!! CHARLIE'S MONEY OF COURSE.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Not sure that would work either. Doesn't the MDC have numerous liens on Charlie/s properties for unpaid water bills?

  10. 2:35PM SHAME ON YOU, telling us not to pay our taxes. If we don't pay our taxes, how will Pedro pay for his Caviar? How will Pedro pay for his luxury suite with all the amenities in his fantasy baseball stadium?
We have to pay our taxes and prepare to pay even higher taxes next year, so Pedro Caviar can continue spending it like a drunk sailor.

  11. Hartford 's illustrious leader has a T-shirt, which reads; I spend all my money on Booze, Ho's and Pills... yup, that's our embarrassing Mayor, Pedro E. Segarra a.k.a. Mr. "Touch of Class".

  12. Anonymous 5:26,

Well at least we finally have found something Segarra is truthful about..."Booze, Ho's and Pills" all proven facts with our illustrious Mayor

  13. Yah. Post those high rollers at the top of the list. Im glad spell slowed down a tad to make only 196 k. But yes i agree with the earlier comment about the pj sgt and his magical mystery tour of pj theft. Yes. I hav pics and intel. How can he make 200 k a year? I mean i do understand mui and murth, they work harder then the stf .
I want to see those time cards. Everyone knows the game wait till those two hour pjs roll in and sit in your unmarked car on the job site. How much money is enough klin ??? Here. Take some blood too....

  14. Kevin you need to expose HPD as well, don't be bias. HPD overtime racket is bigger than the P-Card scam, trust, time cards are public record and the bigger story is the city doesn't even collect the money from the entities hiring these cops that sit in cars, talk on the phone, do anything but direct traffic. Find car 360 in an apartment all day, got photos and log.

    Be fair, post, expose!

  16. I hope while the city has those cars in their possession they'll be smart enough to check if they are stolen, have stolen plates, are currently registered and have insurance.

  17. Anonymous 9:19pm,

I believe that is part of the routine when they are initially towed. Also, I think most of the tow companies also check for that as well as valid ID before the cars are released from the tow yard. With that being said there are always stolen cars and cars that shouldn't be on the road towed during the parking bans. And it is not the easiest task for the traffic division and HPD getting these igloos off the streets

  19. John Mendez, this Caviar guy is terribly serious of running and getting reelected. I'm saying terribly cause this is going to be terrible for us, the people who do care about Hartford. You have to tell us everything you know about this scum bag - EVERYTHING. Not only we have the right to know when talking about an important job as mayor, but also this scum bag was so far able to fool most people. When the truth comes out and we all start paying for his stadium and other crazy spendings he's responsible to, it's going to be too late.

  22. We can't wait. We don't know Segarra personally, but as a 'mayor', or whatever you call this joke, he's been great. Great to the people around him, great for himself.
As for the city and its residents, that's a different story. History will judge him as a disaster, unqualified 'mayor'.
On election day Segarra should be out.

  23. We don't need to wait for history, he already is being judged that way
