Hartford's outgoing Mayor, Pedro Segarra "I am ready for my close up"
Everyday I realize that the voters in Hartford made the right chose in ushering in a change in the Mayor's Office and showing Pedro Segarra the door.
Segarra did do a good acting job during a tough fought campaign, but fortunately the majority of Hartford voters showing up at the polls on election day realized that, and voted for change.
Can you remember before the election? Pedro Segarra was at every fire, every shooting, every homicide. His incessant tweets about his love for the City and its people would have been annoying if you didn't see the comedy aspect of his act.
It became almost a nightly occurrence on the news, Segarra parading in front of the television cameras playing the caring shepherd comforting his flock of wayward sheep as he travelled around a troubled City.
But , alas, all good things must come to an end. ( I guess the phony bad things also) Since 8:00PM on election day, no more tweets, nor more 11:00PM comforting news shots, nothing. Did Segarra flick the switch off on his love for the City or did his twitter account get shut down after the election? Hartford has had plenty of shootings and homicides since election day, sot it is not for a lack of grandstanding opportunities.
I think poor Pedro was aware that his "acting" career as well as his political career was over. Time to call it a day and move on. The old saying "may the best man win" came true and we now realize we made the right choice.

Segarra always loved the money and the caviar, he couldn't care less about the city.
Segarra is very efficient, why waste any time with all those shootings and killings. He still collects his $150+K a year if he goes there or not.
During the campaign, well, that was different. He got free air time, telling the media how hard he worked and that he even went to the White House, you know, a day trip, to discuss crime. Remember that upon his return from DC he became an expect about crime. Maybe he became an expert of how to get MORE crime.
Time to go Pedro. Face an FBI investigation and go.
Listen you all, Segarra never understood the role and responsibilities of a mayor. He was there for the parades, the ceremonies, the ribbon cutting. Above all he was there for the money. Big money.
Pedrito just pretended that he cares, it was during his campaign. The day after he lost the primary he didn't visit 1 single place where shooting took place.
Kevin, for his great performances during the summer campaign Segarra should be awarded an Oscar AND the Emmy. Give Segarra what he deserves.
The voters gave him the boot, that's what he deserved. Maybe the Feds can present him, Kennedy , Wooden and Deller with a set of gold handcuffs at their arraignments
Congradulations on removing ONE dangerous person (Segarra) from Hartford,,,Here's your REAL problem, what are you going to do about the hundreds of people who are just as, if not more, destructive than Pedro? I'm talking about the gun toting drug dealers, the murderous gangbangers, the mentally ill walking the streets, the "high"and drunks walking the streets, the homeless, the reckless-uninsured-unregistered-unlicensed-under the influence drivers tearing around our streets, the quads and dirt bikes, the owners of blighted properties, the people who "spit out" babies and expect others to raise and pay for them, the public works dept that cant even manage 3 inches of snow, the police dept that is more reactive than proactive, the unfixable fire dept, OK OK I'LL STOP !!! Kevin, the most Bronin could do with all this is make a dent and sadly in the end it wont be noticeable!
please, gold handcuffs for Sandy K.B. and Terry W. as well.
It has to start somewhere. We didn't get into this mess overnight and we aren't gong to fix it overnight either. Strong leadership can make a difference though.
Many Hartford reeidents are looking for justice. They want to see some action from the Feds, they want to make sure that all the dirt, all the corruption in this administration will be investigated.
11:14 why not give Bronin a chance? He's definitely a smart man, let's see if he can do more than just an unnoticeable dent.
At 11:03 PM: We the people of Hartford must also recognize Pedro Caviar for his great hair all along the campaign, after every shooting, after every killing, during the day and during the night, every single day. After all, Pedro's great hair design contributed to his mayoral (non)performance.
Pedro ended his term at his Christmas party like a diva.
Tom Deller left but left Henry in his position. Henry is now the new pimp of city hall. What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, right Henry?
10:02am Any details?
Where was Pedrito's Christmas party? When? Why weren't we invited? Did he serve caviar in his party?
11:18am we weren't invited but I am sure we paid for it
Did Pedro bring in the same nearly nude male dancers for his Christmas Party like he did for his Gay Pride party in City Hall. The same dancers that had their pictures taken, scantily clad cavorting on the Council dais? If Ken Kennedy only knew what went on in front of his microphone and his chair.
11:43 WHAT WENT ON NOT IN FRONT OF KENNEDY CHAIR BUT ON KENNEDY CHAIR!
Segarra and Barry from Honolulu have taken the same road to obscurity. Don't make fun of kids that believe in Santa, some adults still believe in Obama.
Good bye Pedrito, we all love you, now get lost, you screwed up enough already.
With the New Year approaching it is a goodbye to Pedro and his administration. There is no one to blame but the voters who elected him. The effect of his time in office will take time to clean up. Hartford voters keep up with the politics in your neighborhoods. Make all new leaders accountable on every move they make. Hopefully, the new politicians will take heed of doing the right thing so Hartford has a fighting chance to revive. Time will tell if spending 1 million dollars to get elected will save the capitol city.
Pedro and his administration are a big failure. Big failure.
Pedro, did you hear what I just said?
The word "FAILURE" whould forever stick to your name.
Kevin- I know this is slightly off topic. Do you have any opinion on mayor-elect Bronin's first round of appointments that were announced today?
The Shepard caring for his flock was more like grooming the goat at the cliff.
Pedro Maria may be nominated for Oscar for his performances during the summer 'we'll take it to the streets' campaign, but Pedro Maria must win the Raspberry Award for the worst performance as mayor in the past 5 years.
'Twas the night before Chirstmas when all through his house
And it's Mayor Maria's I'm talking about
Dancer and Prancer and Vixon were out
To sooth his sorrow and to...
Oh forgetaboutit
Vamoose Mister Mayor
Show Hartford one good turn and resign now.

No, not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Especially when the Vegas trip is funded with City money and the names of those travelling are public information. It might be a little more work to name the person that met them there, but your tips have been solid so far and I am pretty confident I'll get to it
Thank you
Wait a minute, Vegas? Who went to Vegas using P-card? Is there a new scandal in Hartford?
Oscar to Pedro Segarra NO, instead give him a top spot in a Hall of Shame.
Give Pedro Maria anything he wants, anything, just get him out of the mayor's office already. His office really stinks.
Ladies and Gentlemen: I 'd like to introduce you with the biggest liar, manipulator, cheater, out of touch with reality person of the year: Pedro Caviar Segarra.
Sorry, but for this type of character you don't get no Oscar.
The Mayor should just bring the projects back. Good ol' Mayor Mike brought them down and crime in the city went up due to those stupid portable Section 8 vouchers. dumb move
