In the right hand column , you will find a gadget called "My Blog List".
Tonight I clicked on a comment that was posted on "We the People " and it took me to another local blog- the "beatbikeblog.blogspot.com". It is worth checking out and I really liked some of the photos that we usually don't see driving along at 50MPH.
Take a moment to check it out, just click on the icon in my blog list

Great. I'll be there. I hope they choose not to include Brookfield Street where every car veers off the 5 speed bumps along the road into the bike lane to avoid the right side tires going over the bumps. I placed photos and the complete messy and costly history of the problem that a certain official within Public Works whose name begins with the letter "C" into the hands of Mayor Bronin at one NRZ meeting.
The mayor knows about it. You know about it. The first time a bike rider is hit or killed by a car veering into the bike lane, the administration is responsible. I won't spell his whole name because for some unknown reason Mr Brookman, you don't want him published.
Go figure. This mess will cost the city thousands to corr ct for the 2nd time. The first time, bump extenders were placed past the 2 foot-wide bike lane gap. Lo and behold, 90% of cars slip through the gap as I told the thick-headed Public Works official with the first letter of his first name "C."
I think if you look you'll find your comments were published regarding the speed bumps, on November 23, 2015, March 8, 2016 and two comments posted on March 17, 2016. I can only assume they are your comments because they were all posted Anonymously, but I doubt there are too many other people posting about speed bumps on Brookfield Street
Also, the name you claim I seem to be protecting, Constantine, is clearly in both of your postings, nothing was removed
NO ONE CARES ABOUT STUPID SPEED BUMPS!!!! PEOPLE ARE BEING SHOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Increasing taxes, particularly going back to the idiotic property tax surcharge, is a very bad idea. Let Fonfara push at the State level for relief from State mandates at the municipal level, or pay for them itself.

An initial leaked draft of the bill published by Hartford blogger Kevin Brookman, which was different from the proposal submitted to the legislature, called for a surcharge as high as 10 percent on the city's 20 largest commercial taxpayers and a maximum 10 percent PILOT fee on Hartford's 15 largest not-for-profits.

Is Constantine still employed by the city? I was hoping to see more of a shakeup at DPW with the new administration. That bike lane issue on Brookfield is terrible. I use it to commute by bike to Simsbury from the South End and it is truly the most idiotic design. I always have to wave my hands at motorists behind me so they don't try and overtake me the gap. It's probably one of the worst designs I've ever seen and they just don't care, not one bit. For once could we hire some folks who aren't locals, people who have actually lived and worked in other cities where they've been able to gain experience with more advanced bike infrastructure.
@bike untrue:
If you call the Hartford Courant and ask for the Hartford reporter, I think they will listen to you. I handed the mayor pictures of cars veering into the bike lane and it didn't take me long to photograph. I will also call tomorrow but it would help that you express this since you use the path.
Does the Courant even have Hartford reporter any more?
Yes, the Hartford Courant has a few reporters that cover Hartford issues. Yet, they few and in between what they use to have. Newsprint is on its way out. A very sad day for journalist and photographers who had to turn their pay checks over to the internet.
Bike guy:
Good luck street riding. My life is too important to me and I will not ride on the street anymore. Bike trails for me only. Too many freak car drivers. Just look at the remains of accidents.
