IS THODY WAKING UP FINALLY : DEAD POOL FALLOUT

A LEADER OR A FOLLOWER?

I posted earlier today about the HPD "Dead Pool" being run out of the Hartford Police Department's Major Crimes Division You can read that post here http://wethepeoplehartford.blogspot.com/2020/12/the-hartford-police-major-crimes-dead.html.

In typical fashion , Hartford Police Chief  Jason Thody was quick to react since he has never set the tone of accountability as a leader of the Department.  Thody claimed that he was angered over the "Dead Pool" text message and quickly reassigned the Detective who sent the post. In true Thody fashion it will probably end there since further action would draw attention to his incompetence as a Chief..

Why is the Major Crimes Lieutenant Paul Cicero  untouched and what about the two Major Crimes Sergeants? They were all apparently on the original text. Cicero apparently did nothing after the original text was sent and only after someone from the Hartford Court tipped him off around 1:15 PM today that I was posting the text , Cicero finally did something.

There will most likely be some bogus attempt at a cover-up attempt as there was with altered documents after Thody's evading crash, but the time line will prove who knew what and when and furthermore , what did they do. A lapse of days is not acceptable for a supervisor who has an obligation to act promptly At roughly 1:40 PM Cicero sent an e-mail to his Major Crimes Detectives that the "Dead Pool" was unacceptable. Close tp 3 days  after the text was sent, Cicero apparently realized that it was time for some serious "CYA" before the matter blew up. Sorry, too late.

Cicero and his two Sergeants all had an obligation to act as supervisors. Failure to do anything should result in a charge of "Failure to Supervise" for all three.

Yes, the Detective who sent the original text was wrong, but so are Cicero and both of his Sergeants for apparently doing nothing. Fairness would, or should, dictate that everyone involved be removed from their positions, at least while an investigation is conducted.

It seems that it is very hypocritical for Thody to feign indignation when he has set the tone himself, especially after his evading accident where reports were falsified.

In Thody's e-mail to Department personnel after my posting earlier today Thody  states "Once trust between our department and our community is diminished, or lost, it is a vey long road t rebuild it"

A very true statement, but in reality, probably no HPD Officer has done more in the last year to diminish the Public's trust than Chief Jason Thody himself after his evading accident and coverup this past summer. Leaders lead by the example they set, not by sitting down and typing a hypocritical e-mail.

Much more to come on this, in the mean time Thody's e-mail is below where he admits to the facts in my earlier posting.

Cicero will just have guys lie for him again. Just like when Cicero and Medina bribed Labelle with the SID commander position for his cooperation on an internal investigation involving Cicero. Way more to come on this stay tuned...

Isn’t Labelle back in patrol?

They fooled him and he never got the position.

So why does anyone trust the word of these con men?

Thody's email is all well and good, but what punishment did Thody, Medina, or Bowza ever receive for their parts in Thody Gate? Clearly that incident, "Represents a lack of judgement, an extreme insensitivity (not to mention extreme danger) toward our community, and a clear violation of department policy (not to mention violation of the law)"! Did Thody ever send out an apology to the department in that incident? Medina's and Bowza's cover was that it was a "miscommunication." They should have at least been sent to remedial report writing for their failure to document/investigate. Any officer facing discipline should cite "miscommunication" and all is forgiven I guess. Why are the people who should be held to the highest standard actually held to the lowest standard?! Whatever happened to Rouseau in the records burning fiasco or Cicero in his many incidents (too many to cite here)? They are real quick to throw an officer or detective under the bus in order to divert the attention away from themselves.

Allow me to preface this with; I have known Lt. Cicero for many years, worked alongside him & consider him a friend.

When I first heard this story a few days ago, I immediately recognized it as a joke, albeit maybe a bit distasteful. that being said, it sure seems like that is an agenda at play here, in that he seems to be the "flavor" of the day here. Should the Detective be re-assigned? Whatever, he made a joke in poor taste, based on the environment of policing we are now in. Should who ever got the text and forwarded it Mr. Brookman have done that? NO they shouldn't have. All that did is to further the agenda of those who dislike Lt. Ceicero. Maybe makes them feel proud that they stabbed someone in the back, as opposed to confronting him head-on.
I'm 100% confident, things like the "deadpool" have been going on for years in MCD, Personnel knowledge of such things.
Other Commanders (now retired) were involved, but everybody recognized it for what it was; A JOKE.

Paul, keep your head up. Soon enough they'll find someone else to bash, maybe even Mr. Brookman will side with you when it fits his agenda.

Let the anonymous comments commence.

Kev, Can Friendly Auto Body hide this mess for Thody like they did for him earlier this year ? They might need a little more Bondo for though?

Martin Miller, coming from you it doesn’t say much. You were a great boss and you’re nothing like the evil Cicero. I do know of many occasions when you helped lie for officers. You don’t need to lie anymore, this is non of your business now. Nobody needs your help or your two cents anymore. Just enjoy the great leadership you have at Canton PD and MYOB!

Joke or not it was DUMB. All supervisors and the commander should be reassigned. Period! These are not joking times especially with the current climate nationally in regards to police and how we do our jobs. If Barone can get fired for using verbal judo, these guys can get reassigned for a "joke" in extremely poor taste.

Martin Miller, you said you heard about it “a few days ago” which confirms that you were one of many that Cicero shared the screenshot with. It’s ok to try and come to his rescue now, We all know you’ve saved many of your buddies with your lies.

Hey Jason, how is that shutting down the blog with your "intelligent" buddy working out for you? Money well spent on the attorneys? LMAO

I think Good Ole Marty Miller just proved an earlier point. way more people knew about this than the folks in the text if Miller knew about this days ago. Should have kept your circle a little tighter Paulie.

Dude your gossip and drama and toxcity as a sergeant was paramount. You retired and at another PD but still fimd the need to partake in this fiasco is pathetic at best. Just be happy your demons were never aired out and ride off into the sunset and shut up please.

An officer missed my friends dying brother on Linnmore street in Hartford because he was too busy on Facebook. I used to go to bed thinking the gun shots are no big deal in the 90s. Idk what part of the inner city experience you think is a joke but the way I will hold the residents accountable, my dead friends and cousin are not here to speak so I’m here to let you know they don’t think it’s funny either.

What part of people losing their kids is funny to you? Are you seriously going to say that you have to dehumanize the people who need protection and many of whom have lost someone to violence? If they’re too jaded in major crimes, I can assure you that Hartford residents will be fine if they leave and get a local replacement from someone who grew up in the city.

Spill the tea. I’m intrigued.

Who cares? He's been retired for years and he still pokes his nose in hpd drama. #nolife
