HARTFORD DEMOCRATIC TOWN COMMITTEE TO MEET TONIGHT

If you are interested in seeing first hand how Hartford politics work, the HDTC will be meeting tonight at 6:30PM in the Function Room at Hartford City Hall.

If you want to see democracy at its finest, or maybe its worse, stop by and see what goes on.

After a short time watching the process, you will probably be convinced to vote Independent on November 8th. It promises to be a lively night.

The town committee is loaded with criminals, felons, sexual predators, and some fiscally, morally and ethically bankrupt individuals.

I would maintain that when the Mayor and the Chair of the HDTC and other officials support republicans more then they support other democrats not within their clique,it is time to think about the viability of the HDTC.Many democrats will not support republicans attached to the Mayor and/or the 3 democrats who rejected the endorsement but who might well be working for Republicans "underground" I know I wont.

Certainly the other stuff mentioned by the earlier poster gives me pause to even think about supporting such a dysfunctional body,in which the corrupt and criminals seem to have found a political home.

The best way to cleanse the foul aroma emanating from the HDTC is for town committee challanges this coming March.

And yet Bruce, you wanted to be chairman of that very group of people. It's not like you're not that smart, or just some average lawyer, plodding along. Surely you had to know the character of the DTC when you put your name out there for chairman after the '10 elections.

Did the cops or Feds show up to clear up their mist wanted list. The Democurrupt Town Committee should be disbanded, the State should look at them and start a "CORA" case, it would have far reaching implications. Good luck with that the DTC has blurred the line so much between parties you need a score card just to keep the players straight. Corruption at it's finest get everyone involved so if the ship sinks everyone goes down.

Richard...I didnt know it was that bad until I " looked under the hood." What I found wasn't pretty and as you know, I didn't even put my name in once I found out that my potential supporters wanted a high party position for a felon and another for a person who was hired as a consultant, after he voted for the entity on a committee.

My stomach retched when I was approached on the eve of the convention over the possibility of working with them and I bowed out,and thank god I did.

On November 8, 2011 the voters and citizens of Hartford will have a chance to remove the corruption that is now in control of City Hall.

Hartford needs a clean sweep! 11.8.11 vote for people that you know will do the right thing.

Come November 9, 2011 Hartford will have spoken and will receive the government it wants.

Just wondering; if the actual folks involved in the party are of low quality, are there fundamental principles of muni government the party upholds in spite of stupidity on the ground? I mean, aside from the unfortunate dysfunction at the party apparatus level, is there some particular wisdom that the Dem operation lends to City Hall?

Peter..the guiding principle of the party in city hall is dividing the spoils amongst the friends/donors/relatives of city hall."What's best for the city or its residents" is just lip service from those politicians ( not all of them mind you)with a self interest, to take care of their supporters, friends and relatives.

Peter before you go too far with this...it would be exactly the same if the Republican Party was in charge.

You may be right, Bruce. On the other hand, the pox-on-all-their-houses position better lends itself to the party that favors less government. I mean, if all the pols are corrupt or self-serving, and the bureaus they create are at least inefficient and self-serving, wouldn't it make sense to give them less money, power, and authority?
