Apparently today will be eviction day at "Occupy Hartford". A "cease and desist order" has been served upon the "occupiers". Police Officers have been instructed to serve the order upon organizers this morning. Officers have been advised to inform the campers that the order issued today will be enforced at 6:00PM .
Those not vacating the park will be subject to arrest after the 6:00PM deadline. The decision was apparently made after several violent incidents have occurred at the site, including a stabbing, a sexual assault and two gun calls that occurred in in the last 24 hours

First off get your numbers correct last comment. There were 30 cars and roughly 50 of us. Enough is enough. Im sure you are some closet protestor that shows up for two or three hours. And then retreats to your house in vernon. And by the way i was paid ot today to evict those bums and hippies ......
By the looks of it. The mayor did the right thing. So long losers. Go back to michigan and new jersey .... I did so much enjoy the fact that hpd has a garbage truck in their fleet now. Kevin. See if they can send it to capen and garden. That area needs an air strike
I heard that some city council person tried to stop the police from cleaning out the filthy bums. But im sure he did not stay out their one night. .. And by the way , now there are posted no trespassing signs up there. Ha ha
What was really amusing was council woman elect jennings trying to brown nose with the non hartford resident protestors. But then again she was only there for about five minutes. Another bleeding heart liberal. Why dont u let them camp out in ur front yard ??? Or you mr council man who almost got arrested ???
I must say. About time those filthy bums were evicted. Kevin. Who was paying for those smelly porto podies ?? And who will pay for the emergency hazmat cleanup crew ? They should make the protestors pay for these expenses. ... Filthy animals ......
Considering the non compliance and all the acts of violence against police at other "occupy" locations across the country, I'd probably have to say that's why there were 20 police cars there. And as far as good use of taxpayer money? If it was a pre-caution to prevent anyone from getting hurt......I'd say so. Put the blame where it belongs.....on the losers in the park. If you've been following national news, It appeared to me Hartford PD did a great job in comparison to other law enforcement agencies across the country.
Let's not only blame those misguided individuals who may or may not have camped out in that vacant lot, but lets place blame where blame should be laid, at the feet of the bow tie wearing bag of s@&t, Panagore. My "alternative sources" have told me that HPD had them all ready to move out on the very first day and it wasn't until the guy who has helped destroy Hartford told them that it was "State land" and that this was a state issue. Not knowing what is or isn't city property is probably not a good thing, especially when you were originally hired as te city's economic developer.
How come he didn't bring them donuts during the move out. You can blame the reallocation of police resources on him and only him, if he would of allowed the police to do their job in the begining it would of saved the tax payers money and not have deprived the citizens of the police coverage they deserve. The Bow tie can't leave soon enough, DKR is out the door and he should be quick to follow.
Good job Mayor Segarra!! As far as the 20 or 30 cruisers is concerned, its called a SHOW OF FORCE and I think it worked very well. Chief Roberts had his resources on-site just in case. Now all Chief Roberts he has to do before he leaves is clean up IAD and keep off-duty officers from entering the lock-up to beat up prisoners.
Now that they are gone can they at least occupy a shower, and maybe then they can go to a job interview and get hired instead of looking for handouts.

To Htfd Ofc. My point was I support the right of free speech but if it was against city ordinance, why was it allowed in the first place. I never protested there. When I drove by at 2 pm there were 20 police cars. I support the Htfd police especially the officers, but not the leadership. If they weren't supposed to camp there, why didn't they get moved the very first day? Ithe Hartford police have way too many other important things to do than send 30 police cars to evict people that shouldn't have been there in the first place. It was a poor leadership decision. If Segarra and Roberts made the right decision to start with, tax payers wouldn't have had to pay OT.
The costs associated with this mess should be directly paid for out of Pangore and Cotto 's pay. They were there day one, and orchestrated this whole embarrassing eyesore...eyesore

Some state employees who are suspected of food stamp fraud are highly paid workers earning far beyond the limits for the low-income program, officials said Thursday.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said that all 15 state employees who have been referred to agencies for disciplinary hearings are "relatively high wage-earners.''
