TIME TO ASK FOR OUR MONEY BACK

The front desk at HPD , known as Teleserve, is supposed to be a secure area surrounded by bullet proof ballistic glass.

That bullet proof ballistic glass was put to the test on May 27,2017 by a 40 year old female who  attacked the window with a "rusted bike pedal" shattering the $2300.00  glass.

Hopefully the glass will prove more durable if it is ever challenged by an actual bullet instead of the rusty bike pedal. Maybe the next Legislative session can ban the possession of rusty bike pedals without a permit, opening another revenue stream for our cash  strapped State.

Now the criminals go to the police station to commit a crime. What is this crazy world coming to?

So cops on the street can't hide behind glass when talking to Hartford residents, but Teleserve can?

Any police department must have a secure location in the front lobby area to protect officers there from
unbalanced and violent people that visit. On High Street the glass makes that area secure. The woman who
broke the window was just such a violent nutjob and without the glass would have injured an officer or a third party
right in the lobby.

Once on Jennings Road a local man assaulted a police officer, took the cruiser after the assault and drove the cruiser
right through the front lobby of the Police Department and into the lobby. I was working at the front desk on that night with several
other officers. Very lucky no one got hurt, except for the driver of the stolen cruiser.

That incident led to a glass enclosed Tele-Serve area and front entrance.

These young guys just don't get it Chris. It's a completely new generation, no more brotherhood. It definitely is not what you know / knew. Very sad and can't be out of here soon enough.

The perp managed to get the cruiser and the officers burner. Blame that officer for leaving his cruiser running. Most guys still do it today. I remember when a ert members cruiser got taken and the perp engaged us in pursuit on 91. Luckily the rifle inside was not taken and the cruiser was crashed into the ct river.

At least I was out making arrests, and cleaning up my part of the city, where were you?

True dat Bones. They were probably sitting behind crimes against glass listening to the radio. Because of lighting and electronic equipment, and officer safety (which this turd has no clue), cruisers can't be turned off during a traffic stop you moron. Exactly why over the past several years cruisers have been equipped with security ignition locks.

Have you ever stopped a car turd? You mean to tell me if you ever have, you turn your cruiser off during a traffic stop? Don't say the perp engaged "us" in pursuit, because your obviously to afraid to do police work. And I was working, there was never a pursuit of the cruiser. I saw it going 91 north with the lights on still as I was going 91 south. The cruiser was located unoccupied on Garden St north of Albany Ave with the lights still on and the "burner" still in the trunk. You are a complete loser and very scary if indeed you are a cop. Every single day that Sgt went out and did his job.
