HOW DO THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO EVEN TRY?

And now another one from the "only in Hartford" file.

Susan McMullen, Chief of Staff to former Mayor and convicted felon Eddie A. Perez today resigned her position. Most considered her exit from City Hall as inevitable. But before her exit, according to a City Hall source, she has written to the City Pension administrators requesting to boost her pension.

McMullen is somehow asking that her time of service as an employee of the City of New Britain be allowed to calculate her pension. I for one might be convinced to support such a move. We as residents of Hartford do owe her a debt of gratitude. Before you fall out of your chair , consider the facts.

If McMullen hadn't dreamed up the "Dyslexia Defense" for Perez, he might still be a free man today without any felony convictions hanging over him. Susan McMullen and her testimony almost certainly ensured a conviction for Eddie in conjunction with the testimony of Matthew Hennessy. The jurors must have realized the Perez Administration was a fraud after they spent almost a month watching Perez read e-mails on his Blackberry to then be told he was Dyslexic.

Good job Susan, in the end we both were working for the same goal I guess.

McMullen also now seems to hold the record for being terminated as a Mayoral Chief of Staff from the most municipalities in the state. Prior to coming to Hartford she was also terminated from New Britain. Might I suggest Waterbury next?

Why should the Hartford Pension Commission factor McMullens years in New Britain to boost a pension that the City of Hartford pays?

SHE SHOULD GET ONLY WHAT SHE IS ENTITLED TO AND NOT A PENNY MORE...SHE SHOULDNT BE ATTEMPTING TO RIP OFF THE CITY YET AGAIN ON HER WAY OUT.

Is the Director of (mis)Communications Sarah Barr officially gone from city hall yet?

As for McMullen, I agree with Bruce and Hartford Voter.

Even Perez haters who have had any interaction with him knew about his dyslexia. It's a horrible excuse for a defense, but why is it some super surprise all of a sudden?

Probably because in 4990 articles about Perez in the Courant, it's never been mentioned ... and this from someone whose whole political career is based on "look at all I had to overcome." Not to mention the fact that if he can't read emails, then he can't read a Blackberry either. Plus even Matt admits anyone who read that email from Citino would have brought it to Perez's attention, so he still would have known about it.

Please continue the good work by accepting Eric Jackson's resignation. He makes both the CITY and the BOE look like a bunch of imbeciles.

What about Adomowski he should go along with Jackson, the tax payers should be tired of paying their rent along with Jackson"s city car and the two cell phones we pay for, why does Jackson have two city issued cellular phones.

I just read where Pedro offered Treasurer Kathy Palm to come back from Constitution Plaza to City Hall from where she was banished by former Mayor Perez. Constitution Plaza. What a great move by Perdro and it goes toward his empathetic warm personality.Just the right kind of move we need now as Kathy and Pedro can work together. It is best for Hartford.
