Not many of those stickers were handed out in Hartford yesterday
District one , according to my list , is at the Liberty Christian Center at 23 Vine Street. I recall in years past that is normally a pretty busy polling place. If that is true, it definitely shows that Hartford's overall number of polling places should be cut to a more realistic number. It just seems crazy to be staffing polling locations if no one shows up.
The list of Polling Locations is also below so you can see how your area measures up

Something is screwy in this count - all of the votes on the questions in district 4 are shown as absentee ballots.
This election was a joke in Hartford. First, you would have never guessed there even was an election. No signs, mailers, candidates campaigning, nothing.
Then, the questions were so flawed and confusing even the Courant couldn't report the results right. How could you take 10 or so important charter questions and lump them into three.
Low turnout is an understatement. People have lost interest when the deck is stacked in one party's favor with no competition.
Your comments on turnout are right on. However I suspect that any turnout from District 1 is counted with District 2 since they have the same polling place. The two districts share a common ballot except when there is a State Senate election. District 1 is included as part of the seat held by John Fonfara. District 2 is part of the seat held by Eric Coleman. So this election it is possible that the elections folks just combined the two. This is all the result of the gerrymandering created by the legislature.
I do want to comment that Hartford has 3 Registras and 3 Deputies that one would think they could have sent a mailer out to their respective parties to inform the VOTERS of the Charter Revision questions. No, no, no that would be to much work. Work is always a problem in that department because there is no work unless it is election time. This was a General Election not a Primary. Charter Revision is a very serious matter and change comes every 10 years. WAKE UP HARTFORD RESIDENTS. And the Mayor continues on his MERRY WAY because he still can appoint 5 members to the Board of Education and VOTE as a member of the Board of Education. That is not a good thing. He controls TOO much power!!!! Dose anyone remember the disaster caused by the former Mayor while he was a member of the Board of Education?
