According to sources within the Hartford Police Department the DONO Development area, future home of the Yard Goats, has already become a "feeding ground" for crime. This description was in an internal memo outlining recent crimes that have taken lace at the development site, obtained by "We the People"
If Mayor Segarra can't even secure a construction site, how does he plan to ensure the safety of those coming into Hartford to attend the new stadium?

Nobody needs to come to Hartford. Mayor Erin Stewart did an excellent job securing a new team playing in New Britain.
Great job Mayor Stewart!
Wait a minute, crime in DoNo around the $56 million ballpark? Who cares, as long as Segarra's luxury suite will be secured and safe. Nothing else matters.
I'll go to New Britain with friends and family. It definitely will be more exciting in New Britain than in Hartford. After the game we'll be shopping at the new New Britain Costco.
Pedro take notice.
Pedro or Peter Segarra tried stabbing Mayor Stewart in the back. Look who is laughing now.
Yup, the ballpark is the "spark" alright. So mayor, what was that you told us about bringing the north end back into alignment with downtown? What was that you said about creating a "bridge"? The good people of the Main and Albany area told you that they didn't believe you, that they were skeptical about your project, that there were more pressing issues to deal with, that they were afraid that--rather than giving their neighborhoods a boost--things would get worse. What are you doing now to ensure the security of their homes and businesses?
He's doing everything he can to ensure the security of his sky box in the stadium and the 200 free tickets for life for himself and his cronies.
What he'll do for the good people of the Main and Albany area is higher taxes starting next year when we have to start paying for the stadium, since all his projections and evaluations are nothing but fantasies, even the secretive Dunkin Donuts deal doesn't bring enough money that we'll need to pay even more.
Only after Segarra is out of office, the truth about the stadium will be known to Hartford residents. And the truth will be ugly.
It appears that the Dunkin Donuts naming rights is the biggest lie. Segarra refuses to give any details about the revenue from that deal. However, if the DD deal brings less than $500,000 a year, we, residents of Hartford will pay the difference. At this point there're only rumors, and it may be 1/2 or less of that "minimum" $500,000.
Open your mouth Segarra, tell us what the deal is worth. It's not your private stadium, you bastard, it's not your money.
Don't forget to place some blame on stupid Shawn Wooden for the mess that Hartford is in. That dope wants to be the new State Treasurer when Denise Nappier leaves. That loser has lost every election that he has tried to advance himself.
Eddie, please don't say that. Shawn Wooden could have carved a maverick and smart name for himself by going against the stadium. But he didn't. Law firms generally like big developments and I am certain his law firm will benefit. When the stadium fails economically, Wooden's name will be attached to it. There is no conceivable way this stadium will be a zero cost on a per anum for the tax payer.
. I currently live in Hartford. I will sell my home but not before the killing fields are ameliorated. My interior home improvements continue and not so much to increase the value. But when the moment comes to sell my wonderful home in the dump that I now call my home town, a buyer will look and think, "what a beautiful house. Do you think we should offer that man a much lower price? He is probably desperate as hell to sell?"
And my answer will be, "Yes, but the Victorian chandelier's come with me."
There aren't enough police officers in Hartford to do the everyday job, now you're adding a stadium?
Sorry Pedro, you miscalculated terribly.
