Is it April 1st?

Is it a publicity stunt, like when Frank Sinatra, Jr. was kidnapped?

This is almost hard to believe. who would do such a thing, and why?

I am hoping that either Pedro Peter Maria or Wooden was in the mascot uniform.

The Yard Goat mascot is an assault on Hartford... That someone decides to recipicate is, perhaps, understandable.!

I'm betting that it was likely a publicity stunt, possibly cooked up by someone in the Yard Goats organization, designed to pique interest and generate pro-team buzz. Look at the facts--the guy didn't sustain any real injuries, someone filmed it(Why?), and today the police seem to be taking it lightly; doesn't even look as if anyone is going to be charged. These sort of stunts have been known to happen, in order to promote something or someone.

Before we belly ach over this, some questions should be answered. First, was the mascot committing a crime? Was it peeing on a fire hydrant? Was it doing anything that would distract the city from the good efforts to keep its citizens happy and living a harmonious life?

And if the mascot was beaten, will this postpone the postponed grand opening of Dunkin Donuts Stadium on May 31? And lastly, will this incident become an additional cost to the good City of Hartford?

Sounds like publicity stunt to me. Is it possible that the Yard Goats are trying to get some sympathy?

Maybe this is why folks are staying away from Hartford.

Greater Hartford folks will not attend Yard Goats games. If anything they will go to see the Bees in New Britain. Many will go to Fenway Park or Yankee Stadium to attend a major league baseball game or series. Hartford left behind again.

I wouldn't go to a Yard Goats or a Yard Rats game even if I get a free ticket.
I'll go to enjoy the Bees in New Britain. Segarra's stadium will not be making any money out of my family.

Back to the mascot caper; if the mascot was beaten, will it limp into Dunkin Donuts Stadium to greet the grand opening of the Hartford Yard Goats to an empty stadium?

Hey, Genao needs a job. Perhaps he should apply to be the mascot.

You should apply for a position in the Superintendent's Office, good idea you have there, put a predator in contact with more children. I know, or hope, you were only kidding

Only kidding, Sir. I wonder if there will be protests on opening day. Does anybody have a handle on that?

KEVIN BROOKMAN said...

Should be protests, and more, if Pedero Segarra has the nerve to show his face anywhere near there on opening day

Former Mayor Pedro Segarra and partner Charlie Ortiz should go live in the middle of wild woods. That is where they belong. They should be ashamed of themselves but I would bet they are not.

Pedro is throwing the first ball. That's what I hear.

YARD RATS is a better name for this team, better than some stupid goats.

The Yard Goats have been winning games. The team players are good. The bad thing is that the owners and developers sold the former Mayor Pedro Segarra a bag of dirt. Pedro sold Hartford out and in the near future the team and owners will be gone. Hartford will be stuck with the bag of dirt. It is a fact that stadiums for minor league baseball teams any where in the USA end up costing taxpayers plenty of money and years to come an empty stadium site will remain in downtown Hartford.

And I thought you were going to tell us something new. To better analyze the situation, leadership is only as good and fiscally sound as the people who voted them into office. You may if you wish, finish the thread.

Who comith first; the chicken or the egg?

In Hartford, the chickens

In some sort of crystal ball world, Yankee Magazine's most recent issue awarded the Yard Goats as Connecticut's best sports experience without it even being open?

Damn Yankees.
