KEE-BORGES:"DID I DO SOMETHNG WRONG?"

Remember the posting last night quoting Richard Wareing ""We need to be less reactive and more proactive".

Well apparently today after the horse left the barn, Hartford's Acting Chief Operating Officer Saundra Kee-Borges reacted and decided to ask for an opinion from her Deputy L. John Van Norden. I am quite sure the opinion will be unbiased  and based in law.

At least one burning question has been answered in the request for the ethical opinion, Waller is her fiancee'. Maybe she might have wanted to ask if it was ethical to purchase rack of lamb and caviar at the taxpayers expense also.

John, questions have been raised concerning the appropriateness of my fiancée Terry Waller bidding at the most recent tax deed sale. Specifically, Terry was the successful bidder on 2 pieces of property at that sale. In one case there others who also bid before it was determined that his bid was the highest. In the other, he was the only bidder after the property was made available for sale again in round two of the auction. There were no bidders for either property in round one of the auction.  An opinion by the Ethics Commission on whether it was a conflict or gave the appearance of a conflict for Terry to bid at that public auction given his relationship to me is requested. According to the tax Collector, the whole procedure was overseen and conducted by an outside entity named Taxserv. Thank you

Saundra Kee Borges

Why wasn't this asked before the bids were made. I guess that would just make too much sense. But before you say this sounds legit and are ready to giver her a pass, wait until you read tomorrow's posting and the follow-up on this.

Earlier toady, Mayor Segarra issued the following statement  regarding Kee-Borges and Waller's actions:

"Tax deed sales are public auctions marketed heavily by the City to encourage community investment and to return properties to the active tax rolls when collection efforts fail. The Mayor does not monitor the public auction process, city employees are not prohibited from bidding at these auctions, and anyone can bid or outbid each other for the purchase of the property. All details about the properties are public information, and made available on-line."

SKB has come to defend her fiancé’s and has finally clarified their relationship. She must have trained her 'boy' into getting good deals for her. After all, she is his lawyer.

No, I think van Norden is actually a real lawyer now, it was just the first year we paid him that he wasn't

Kevin, I noticed that those two properties Mr. Waller got aren't that far from one another. Maybe he has received some insider information about possible gentrification in that area. If so, he has now positioned himself to make a killing.

You would think that Sandra, or somebody in the mayors office would of had the foresight to see that the general public might see Wallers's purchases as conflicting, or at the very least shady. This just looks bad. And in these times when the mayors staff is in a public image and integrity tornado his staff needs to be hyper vigilant of their own actions. Even I can see that, and I'm no public image expert.

Some people in the public might think these ass clowns are caviar eating, car stealing, fiancé promoting self serving morons. It's just careless thinks like this that reinforce those thoughts. Are Wallers purchases legal? For now, probably. Does it shed the hue of improprieties? Absolutely. Was it stupid? Well it's Waller, that should come as no surprise.

Again, I'm no political expert, but... The mayor needs to sit his staff down, all together, and have a frank discussion about their current public image. The need for honesty, integrity, transparency, and above all hyper-vigilance in avoiding anything that may remotely appear fishy. Geeze, for craps sake, get this through your heads.

If I were on the mayors staff right now, I would be brining in my own toilet paper from home to avoid using the city's. And I would get an opinion from Van Norden about it BEFORE I wiped my ass. That's how careful the mayors staff needs to be right now. ....

COO, Kee Borges, playing dumb is not going to make you look good. You know that you have violated many of the City's regulations. As an attorney, you should know better. Why would you ask for an opinion? Especially from someone below you. Are you doubting yourself and need reassurance? Or are you just trying to prove a point. You are making yourself look bad as well as the Mayor and your fiancee Terry Waller. You are not helping the situation, you are making them look worst then what they're already perceive.

The sad part of your game is that you have no self-conscious; as you are bringing down the integrity of your best friend, Mayor Pedro Segarra, whom has placed all his trust on you. By his statement, it's evident, that he continues to protect you, despite all your wrong doing.

Perhaps Ms Borges you should do an examination of your conscience. I think that there you will find all the answers.

The Mayor and City administrators arent careful in their wrong activities , as they are attorneys who can do wrong with license. It is a real shame that we have such people running the city of Hartford.
They are acting as if they will never be caught. We all know who they truly are but why they still there? They are getting away with their wrong actions.
